Are there "tablets" for laundry washing?

I know tthere are for dishwashers, but didn't know if there are some for laundry machines? i think this would be an easy item to pack!

I buy the little travel size bottles of Tide from Target. They're on the aisle w/ all the other travel size products. It's 99 cents a bottle. The bottle says 4 loads, but I always get more out of a bottle

I just posted on the other board but I'll post here too.

Sears still sells the tablets. They are packaged in a clear bucket. I can't remember the name but I belive that it is a brand that they sell only. We used them last year and they were great - actually come to think of it, they aren't really "tablets" - it is powder packaged in plastic that dissolve when it hits the water. Anyway, we will use them again - they were easy to pack in the luggage for a plane ride.

We bought tablets, they were made by tide and I think we got them at wal-mart. They were really nice because they don't take up much room. And they seemed to work well.

i used to be able to get them at the store-no more, px-no more, off the internet from purex-no more. these are the best thing on the market for my mom who lives in a sr. apartment complex.

Last night at the grocery I bought a bottle of the new concentrated All. It is about a third the size of a regular jug of detergent. I poured some in a small bottle to take with us next week. You only use about a tablespoon full per load.

When I travel for work, I take my own detergent (sensitive skin). I use powdered detergent, so I just pour some into a small plastic container (usually an old cake frosting container). I put that container into a quart size ziploc bag along with a 1/8 cup measuring cup (I know that about two of those does one load of laundry.) along with a few fabric softener sheets. Then I toss that into my suitcase (you could wrap it in a t-shirt, if you wanted some padding around it, but I've never had any problems. Even if the plastic container busts, it's in a ziploc (I use the freezer bags, so they're thicker) and that should hold it.

If you want to use liquid, I suggest getting some sort of leak proof plastic bottle would work. A small Nalgene bottle is what I would recommend. I got a few 4 oz bottles a while back and they've never leaked a bit, regardless of what I've put in them or what I've put them through. Good outdoors/camping stores should have them. Or you could use travel bottles meant for shampoo, although I haven't had as good luck getting those not to leak.

I can't find the tablets anymore, so I pre-measure a loadful and put in a ziploc baggie. A few baggies and dryer sheets takes up so little room, and don't forget your quarters!

We loved those tablets and took them on our Disney Cruise but have been unable to find them since then. Since we have a car and we make a grocery store run we now just buy a bottle of liquid and then when we are done with it we leave it with a note " Use Me" in the laundry room at the POR. We figure it may save someone a little bit of $. Good luck finding the tablets....I wrote PUREX and they no longer make them. Someone said CVS. Also maybe some of those camping stores??? I pour my powder detergent into empty 20 oz. coke bottles. Travels well!
