Are there still paper fastpasses available at WDW parks?

I am so confused. I read some of the sticky note on FP+ but I couldn't find out if there were indeed the paper fp's still available.

We are planning a short trip with 3 day one park per day tickets in January. Because this trip could change or even be cancelled we won't be buying tickets until Dec. And we won't be staying onsite. We also won't know which park we are visiting on which day until we get there. We are going with a large extended family and will decide when we get there.

I'm guessing we can't just show up and expect to get a fp to ride a popular ride then without buying tickets and scheduling our fp time months ahead of time.

Any advice for a newbie. Our last visit to WDW was in 2009.

Thanks very much!

Paper fp are no more.
Other than to the very popular attractions (fop, nrj, 7dmt, fea) and the new additions at dhs, you can pretty much get fp for all the other ones same day... Even the popular ones open up same day you just have to keep checking on the app. For example this past Sunday I managed to find fp for both Pandora rides by constantly refreshing

There are no paper FastPasses in the parks anymore, but there are kiosks where you can make your selections day of and CMs to help you at many of them. Unfortunately, some rides will be difficult to get unless you book in advance, particularly the Pandora rides, Toy Story Land rides, and Seven Dwarfs at MK. Most other stuff shouldn't be too hard to get if you go book your FPs as soon as you enter the park. An offsite guest can only book 30 days in advance, and in some cases (I'm looking at you Flight of Passage) there is no availability anyway. In these cases, rope drop is your friend. You can go, check off one of the big rides that builds a line fast first, then stop by a kiosk afterwards (or just do them on your phone, as you wait to enter the park since you know where you'll be at that point).

Try not to worry about it too much. You can still have a ton of fun at WDW even without FastPasses, just like we all used to do!

At the very least, you should try to have a plan for which park on which day. Then, when 30 days before your trip rolls around, you can make FPs for your party. (Onsite stays get a 60-day window.)

So there's no need to buy your tickets months in advance. Just make sure you do it 30 days out so you have your choice of FPs!

Great thanks so much you guys! We probably won't do Flight of Passage anways because of motion sickness (me and dh), and Seven Dwarfs because we probably won't go to MK. We will try to get a loose plan together so we can book a few fps a month out. Appreciate the responses and help.

You can book them 30 days out provided you have tickets linked in your MDE account.
