Are there resort fees for Interval traders into DVC Resorts?

I tried to find the answer to this in other threads but I can’t seem to find the right answer.
Have the resort fees been removed now that Disney Vacation Club is affiliated with Interval International? If not, what are those fees? Thank you.

There is still the $190 fee payable on checkin that was charged to inbound RCI exchanges and is now charged to II exchanges.

not sure if you will get free parking with and exchange, so plan on $25 a night per car if you drive.

We just came back from an Internal International exchange we did. No fee was charged at check in.

I believe OP referred to the $190 resort fee that DVC charged to guests checking in to a DVC resort via an RCI exchange into DVC. Are you referring to an exchange via II out of DVC and into a different resort? Or did you exchange into DVC via II? Guests exchanging in via RCI were charged $190, and if guests coming in via II are not being charged that fee, it's a notable change.

Not sure when this changed. We saw a $190 charge at checkin with an II exchange into DVC.
I don’t think it did change. I think the post I replied to may have been someone who exchanged out of DVC into an II resort, as opposed to exchanging into DVC using via II.

We just got back from an II exchange into Disney’s Old Key West. We were absolutely charged $190 for the week.

Did you ask what is provided for the $190 fee?

Nope because I knew in advance I would be charged the $190. I used to exchange in from RCI so this was the same process.

The front desk told us that the exchange company charges the $190 fee and Disney receives none of it. Don't know if that's correct, just what we were told.

It does show as "Charged by Interval"

Historically (as long as I can remember) the word was that DVC waived the $95 fee that DVC members would otherwise be charged to trade out and added it to a $95 fee that incoming timeshare owners would be charged to trade in, for a total of $190.

We traded in a couple of times in recent years via RCI, and the RCI inbound exchange confirmation said the $190 was a “resort fee” that covered Wi-Fi, Disney transportation, etc. - IOW, the inbound exchange was for the villa only and didn’t include those other items.

However, on TUG the $190 is known as the “because they can” fee. And in the timeshare world it’s not uncommon for resorts to charge a “resort fee” to cover various amenities.

What is the $95 fee to "trade out" or $95 fee to "trade in"?

These seem different than the Interval Internal exchange fee so not sure if these are DVC specific fees.

As I said, that was the explanation way back when. At that time, $95 was the standard exchange fee people had to pay to exchange their timeshare (DVC or other) in II or RCI. Now those fees are much higher, actually! If I want to exchange my other TS now in RCI to stay in a different TS, I have to pay close to $300, just to book the room.

And now it appears the $190 that Disney collects is a resort fee, to cover amenities like pools, transportation, Wi-Fi - when someone exchanges in, whatever exchange fees they pay RCI or II are just for the right to stay in the DVC villa. It’s not unusual for TS resorts to charge a resort fee.

If it's collected and kept by Disney, we should see it in the budget to offset some of the MF.

Does that mean Disney used to not pay to exchange via RCI or II?

The resort told us the $190 is an exchange fee and II keeps a of it (Disney states transportation is free, although I understand DVC timeshares now charge for parking in some circumstances). If the $190 is charged by II, this would align with your point above, but would then be charging a 2nd (or 3rd) exchange fee for the same exchange.

I haven’t looked at the BWV budget to see if it’s there, but BWV almost never appears as an option for inbound exchanges nowadays and I don’t have access to any other resort’s budget. OTOH, if the II/RCI exchange program is managed by the BVTC, the revenue might not appear in a resort budget.
