Are there kids' clubs and/or child care at Castaway Cay?

Hi @rantinnravin
Yes I am a cast member. And yes I obviously misunderstood what you were saying. I thought you meant that we didn't allow the Children onto he beach rather than we weren't at the beach. I didn't mean anything by the tropical island comment. It is a tropical Island and having spent many hours working on Castaway, it does get very hot! We do have shade cloths up over our play spaces and they eat undercover as well.
Sorry. KT

My 3 and 7 year olds said that they had the best time at Scuttles Cove in April.

We had a cabana massage booked and had been worried about our son staying there as he wouldn't stay long in the clubs onboard - in fact we booked him in the nursery when we went to Palo as he wouldn't stay longer than 10 minutes.

At Scuttles Cove he stayed and was happy for the whole 2 hours - he loved it. He even ate more than he'd eaten all cruise at lunch.

My 7yo daughter hadn't wanted to go because she didn't want to miss the Oceaneers Club and Lab (and cos her favourite counsellor was staying onboard), but she also loved it, and is so excited we're heading back there in January.

Hi, for our upcoming cruise, it will be my daughter's first go at the Kid's club, because she is just turning 3. (nursery on last cruise) I was wondering if your 3 year old that hated it, does he go to daycare? Were you able to pin point what he disliked about it? I am hoping she loves it, fingers crossed. (She does go to daycare, but i've had her home while i work from home recently.)

My kids loved Scuttles Cove. We dropped them off for 20 mins, came back to get them and they didn't want to leave so we left them for another couple hours and still had to fight them to leave.

This was AFTER we spent all morning at the beach in the water and then had lunch. So by then, they'd had their fill of the beach and loved running around and playing with the other kids.

Yes, my 3 year old goes to daycare - has been in 3 days a week since he was 4 months old. I think it was just the general being overwhelmed. He's not a big arts and craft kid, so didn't really want to sit and colour. He wanted to play in Andy's Room and go on the slide and all that stuff - and when you're 3 and there are 6 and 7 year olds racing up the stairs way faster than you so they're overtaking you, and all being loud, I think it just got overwhelming.

He did enjoy one of the dance party things they had - I think he did better when he had more supervision and attention from the counsellors. Which is what happens a bit more on Scuttles Cove I think - the activities are heavily counsellor involved as far as I can tell. Next time I think I'll do a bit more Open House with him, and also make sure we check-in for specific activities, as he will be too old for the nursery then. This time, since we knew we could put him in the nursery, it was fine.

You can ask for the counsellors to look out for them a bit, we've done that in the past with our daughter when she was younger, said she was feeling overwhelmed and could they look out for her a bit, and they did. She went from not wanting to go back to not wanting to leave.

Oh, and he LOVED Friendship Rocks (on the Magic and Wonder only), and was quite happy to be there for the whole rehearsal time and then on stage. Again, counsellor involved (and dancing / music, which he loves).

I just booked some nursery hours just in case!
