Are there inputs on the televisions?

At Wilderness Lodge at WDW last December, we were able to connect our digital camera to the inputs on the TV and view our pictures from our digital camera. This was so nice, because you really have to see the picture at full size to be able to delete excess pictures from the memory card. Does anyone know if we can also do this on the cruise televisions?

Thanks!

Too bad! I have 2 gigs worth of memory cards, but with a Canon Rebel, I may still have to have a CD burned at Shutters if I can't see the larger images. I am so glad you let me know though because now I won't be disappointed, I will just know.

Thanks,

Well.... It depends on the type of connector you have. We brought our Gamecube for the kids and were able to hook it up. You have to reach behind the TV and unplug the cable. If you have a connector that will go into the cable (or a converter) it will work.

I have not tried to hook my camera, but I know the Gamecube works with the right converter.

Our TV was bolted to the cabinet, and while it swiveled, it didn't swivel enough to access the coax on the back.

The only connector on the TV is a standard F-type RF antenna/cable input with the round coaxial cable screw-type connector. If the device you're trying to feed to the TV has an RF output, or if you have an external RF modulator, you can connect the cable (bring your own) and tune the TV to channel 3 or 4.

I believe the OP was talking about a consumer-standard video signal that connects with an RCA-type connectior, and the TV does not have that type of connection.

With kids, since a lot of hotels do not have inputs (coax connection in the back is bolted on), we have purchased one of those portable 10 inch screen movie players that take external inputs. Uses include: on-airplane or in care movie viewing. In-cabin movie viewing. Video game playing. Dining room movie viewing for the real young ones. That unit was a "great buy".

You could use something like this to run your photo viewer through as well - for our photo needs, I never leave home without the PC (for photo and internet purposes)

I saw this thread about a week ago as I was preparing for our cruise we boarded today. When we got to our state room today, what did I see. Audio/ Video inputs on the front of our TV. Our tv is silverish compared to the black ones we had on our previous 7 cruises. Not sure if all the tv's have been updated with this model or just the ones that go bad. The screen is the same size as the black ones 13 inch I think.

Thanks for the new information. Are you staying in Concierge Class, by any chance? I have heard that the TVs in these staterooms are better-equipped and that may be why you have audio/video jacks.

What about brining a card reader and just using the computers. You get about 10 minutes free. It should only take a minute or so to check and delete your unwanted photos.

Anyone have any updated information on this?

If someone had a video iPod they could hook-up to the TV to show content.

If you bring a notebook computer, you should be able to download and view the pics on your computer. At least that is what we do every day and have a fresh memory stick to use each day.

With memory sticks so cheap, I think I'd buy another memory stick before lugging a computer with me.

I originally started this thread before my 9/23/06 cruise and once I cruised I found the original information to be correct. There were no inputs on the TV's in the Cat 7 (former cat 6) rooms.

The TV should also slide in and out a little. But even so, you still can not access the coax Easily. You do have to do it bland (i.e. by feel), but it's otherwise accessable.

And the converters like Dale-Not-Chip linked to (RCA to Coax sending a signal on chanel 3 or 4) can be purchased at WalMart for closer to $15.
