Are there Club Level rooms available to DVC members?

OK, so I'm not sure if I'm asking this correctly but I'll try to be as clear as possible.

So I'm booked at the BWV in a Garden/Pool View 1 BR and as I was perusing the boards I've been seeing a lot about Club Level rooms that come with the private lounge, continental breakfast, evening snacks, beverages, etc. and it sounds very nice. The posts all seem to be from people paying cash and staying at the BWI not the Villas so is it only available to them or can I upgrade by spending more points? I know I could call MS but they have been impossible to get through to the last couple of days.

Not at BWI/BWV.

The only DVC units with Club Level access are 5 2BR lock-off units at AKL that typically book at 11+ months out to AKV home owners.

You cannot upgrade.

OK, that's what I thought. Our home resort is AK but for our first trip we chose BWV because it's so close to everything.

No, you can't upgrade from your current Villa to have the club access. What you can do is to trade out to the Disney Collection if there is availability and then you would be on the Inn side in a hotel room. I'm not certain when you are going but the points per night for Club level at BWI range from 59 in the low season to 123 in the high season. Your points would become reservation points and if you had to cancel you could not use them for a DVC resort. You also have to pay a $95 trade fee.

For DVC concierge the only location is AKV. There are a total of five 2 BR lockoffs. And they go fast to owners there since they are so limited.

If you go onto the member website and under Plan Vacations -> Disney Collection you'll be able to get to the point charts for the Disney hotels.

I'm going late August, which is about 30 points a night for a 1 BR on the Villa side, I can't see paying double that or more for a regular room on the Inn side even if I could get the Club Level. I'll just have to make do with brining in our own groceries.

Yes, it really doesn't make sense cost wise to use points. It will usually be best to rent your points out and pay cash if you really want to stay club level in the hotels.

Just for information - August is a low season to trade into the hotels so you could get it for the "cheap" 59 points for weeknights and 68 weekends for a standard view hotel room club level.
