Are there any teddy bear lovers here?

I have a lot of Pooh bears, he is my favorite Disney character after all.
I also have a Build-A-Bear, but have been looking for another bear but so far nothing has jumped out as being the one.


So what I am asking is do you have a favorite brand (Bearington, Vermont, Gund, etc)? have you ever just seen a teddy bear and knew that is the bear for you?

Before DD was born, I had a fairly large collection of Gund bears. Over time, I got rid of most of them. We had too many stuffed things in the house. They were taking over!

my son (8 1/2) is such the teddy bear lover-his first choice of a souvineer on any vacation is a bear that has caught his eye.

his current constant companion is a medium size beanie baby who he has named "teddy ursa" (after some pokemon or yugio character).

Yeah I have quite a few stuffed bears (mostly Pooh's) also one that my dad won in a claw machine. I also have a Bearington and a Build-A-Bear.

Though I did get rid of almost all my TY bears.

I am very bear invovled. I belong to Good Bears of the World, a non-profit organization that gives bears to those in need! I also collect Annette Funicello bears and Mohair bears, I have many of the Bearington collection and the Gund Littlest bears. So, yeah, I think I qualify for one who likes bears!

This is the parent organization. There are local bear dens, just check where you live. My den is the link on the bottom left, Ye Olde..in Miami. Our den donates bears to the local police and fire departments, local children's groups like Easter Seals, UPC... also the foster care groups, migrant workers children and we also give bears to Alzheimer patients. It's a great organization!

I have four of the ice cream bears from Annette's collection, they are so cute!

It is because of your post that I went looking for another bear.
I typed Brooks Pharmacy into google and found a site that carries Bearington Bears. Of course the one that I really liked was out of stock.
Happily I just found a different site and fell in love with one.

My DBF's mother did it up this year for XMAS. She has a separate teddy bear tree filled w/teddy bear ornaments. Surrounding the tree are tons and tons of bears. They continue on top of her china cabinet and inside of it too.

Its actually quite tastefully done, and looks like a toy store decorated for XMAS. I was very impressed.

Vermont Teddy Bears, all the way! I have a bunch of them. They are very good quality and adorable. I like Boyd's too though. My kids like Build A Bear - we have bears in Snow White, Tinkerbelle, Woody and Buzz outfits.

Mom mom called me earlier and asked if I wanted to go shopping with her and my sister tomorrow. Gonna look at bears.

I am no expert on collecting bears, but we sold a few for my MIL from her collection this fall and from what I have been told-- the bear market on EBAY is great for buyers right now. We were selling $200+ new Steiff (which are REALLY cute, BTW) and some of them only sold for $45!

Check out EBAY for great bargains!

I'm not a bear collector - I'm a bear accumulator! I have found that perfect bear that I knew was for me too many times to count!

I don't have a favorite brand - I don't discriminate! I actually have no Vermont Teddy Bears, and I just got my second Steiff this year. Lots of Gund, Fiesta, Ty and one Knickerbocker that is too cute - and a few artist bears. Oh, and we are regulars at Build a Bear!

Yup, I love Teddy Bears.

I've collected bears for many years. No particular brand, just whatever strikes my fancy. I have so many that I mostly only buy them now if they're different from most that I have (different color, etc.) I also collect just about anything that's shaped like a bear or has a bear on it--mostly Xmas ornaments and decorations. I don't think I have a favorite, but there is one my sister made me many years ago that is very, very special to me.
