Are there any "perks" to being a repeat cruiser?

Yes, you become a "Castaway Club" member and receive gifts in your stateroom (we received a beach towel and two trading pins each time we returned, although I understand there have been different gifts in the past) and an invitation to a reception with the Captain.

All that I am aware of is the Castaway Club 'private' reception/party and a free beach towel per room.

Someone had mentioned to me that there was seperate check-in for return cruisers. Is that true?

It IS, but sometimes, with the amount of repeat cruisers that there are now, that line can be longer than the regular line. At least you have an option, though.

Does EACH CC guest receive the gift? Or is it just one per stateroom? I was under the impression that each guest got the gift.

As we are CMs family, we dont appear to get any extra perks..............except for the great discount! Gladly trade a "gathering" and a towel for $s off my cruise!Must persuade DD to keep returning for several more contracts! Nat:Pinkbounc

The towel is one per stateroom.
We are 38 timers, so we are the ultimate Castaway Club members...I am still waiting for a Platinum card, but at least we have a very impressive collection of the towels. ;)

The return cruisers line saved us alot of time this past june. When we went to check in the other lines were very long and the return cruisers line only had 3 people in it.:) Guess we got lucky to catch that line at such an uncrowded time.

I heard during my cruise that well over 50% of DCL passengers are repeat customers. That is amazing. I went on my first cruise in 1980, and have now been on a total of 7, including 1 DCL. Back in 1980, less than 5 % had ever been on any cruise at all, and I have no idea if any were repeat cruisers with that line.

The best perk is that ability to rebook while on board at 10% savings plus a $200 per stateroom onboard credit.

In the distant past, you had a grace period during which time you could rebook, but the deal wasn't as good.

And yes, one "frequent flyer" gift per stateroom and the reception. On most cruises 1/3 to 1/2 of the cruisers are repeaters. We're 10 down on the Magic, with 11 and 12 booked.

on our 4 day cruise in july on the wonder there were only a handful of return cruisers (which didn't surprise me, since i was unable to find anyone on this board scheduled for that week)...
it was nice with so few of us at the return cruisers cocktail party.....in fact, there were so few of us, there were far more crew members there than cruisers, so we each had an opportunity to speak to all of them....which i doubt is normally the case...
it was a very nice intimate affair.....i'd say there were at most 8 families there.....but probably fewer than that...
