The two that spring to mind aren't really new resorts but modifications of existing ones.
The first is the new DVC wing of the Contemporary that they are building but refuse to acknowledge (yet ) The second development we are likely to see is the finishing off of Pop Century, from 1900 to 1940 on the other side of the lake. Rumour has it that these will be family suites instead of standard rooms.
I think these would be finished off first before any new resorts are opened.
Actually, Four Seasons has already broken ground near SSR and downtown disney for completion in 2010. There will also be a new Waldorf-Astoria built close to WDW property somewhere in the near future. Finally, some true first class hotels.

I was under the impression the new Western Way development would include Disney owned accomodations that can compete with offsite suite accomodations, to offer something for families traveling with 5 or more members.
I know the golf course are supposed to be closing...in fact one has I think...but wasn't sure exactly where on that land the hotel was going as opposed to the single family homes or timeshares or whatever is being developed. Do you know? And has construction started? And is it timeshares or homes or what?
Still wondering what construction near DTD and SSR WDWvillian was referring to??
