No, I don't want to get in to the 'why would you want to when you're at the most magical place' debate ;)

I'm going to be on the other side of the ocean for two weeks in the best place on earth - I would love to be able to upload some photos for family to see while we're away!
We'll have our iphones with us anyway, but roaming internet is way to expensive to even contemplate :(

Simple answer no.

You can pay $9.95 for 24 hours at your on site hotel. Some of the larger hotels have Wi Fi in the lobby, still paid.

I think you can get free Wi Fi at the McDonald's right off property but if you don't have a car, hard to get to.

There have been reports of open Wi Fi hot spots in the parks and certain lobbies but nothing that is consistent.

ETA: Just realized that the McD's is on property not sure how to get there with Disney Transportation.

Also its 24 hours starting when you sign in, so if you started at 9:00 PM one night its good until 8:59 PM the next night so you can kind of get two days worth of use.

Thanks, this is what I thought - just checking as a friend (who hasn't been lol) is insistant that there must be!

Oh - is there a Starbucks at Disney? She's suggesting in there (she really wants photo updates lol)

Not a real one, I think there is a stand in either the Swan or Dolphin. Again no Wi Fi.

I'm sure there are Starbucks in the area but only ones you can get to with a car.

Excellent answers (as always) thanks for the help :)

Looks like a mass upload when we get home then ;) And no jealousy inducing posts while away!

We had the same request from our inlaws one year, so we set-up a photopass account online before we left, then once we got a photopass card we texted them the number. Then they could log into the photopass account and see the pics taken of us throughout the day.

In the past few weeks Disney has been running trials of free WiFi at certain hotels. But there's no guarantee of what will be available when you're there, but they're working on it. Last October there was free WiFi available at Blizzard Beach and Winter Summerland, but I don't know if it's still active.

YES!! There IS free WIFI on property...go to the mcdonalds near AKL and all stars, they have free wifi.I used it in the parking lot.

I edited my first post to say that the McDonald's is on property, but without a car it might as well be off property unless you can maybe walk there from BB. :confused3

ETA: OK Sundancer UK all is not lost. Since you are at All Stars it looks like you can walk from All Stars to the McDonald's. Here is the map its about a half a mile away from check in.

But usually not WiFi. It's generally an ethernet connection.
You can always buy an Airport Express and plug it into the ethernet jack in the room to create your own WiFi hot spot. But you still have to pay for the in-room Internet.

I read somewhere that you might be able to get free wifi in epcot around the "ball". I'm going to try it in May.

Heres the article I came across on another Disney site

This sounds like a great idea. I think I'll try this. I had always just emailed a link at the end of a trip, but this would seem a bit more "real time" for those tuning in for a view.

That McDonalds is only 1/2 mile from the entrance of All Star Sports (where we've stayed/are staying -- depending on where your room is at All Star Music, probably not even 3/4 mile ... sorry, I'm not up to converting that small of a mile to a kilometre -- if you do any walking at all, not a very far distance :) so you wouldn't really need to get on a bus.

That said, I haven't actually used the Free wifi at that McDonalds, so I'm not saying I know for sure they do have it ... but I'm also not doubting it being reported above that they have it -- most McDonalds now do have free wifi!

:) Duh ... I didn't see you posted a Google map link - sorry for my double answering, that's what I get for lurking the boards on break at the office!

Thanks :) and no problem, most people in the UK still go by miles ;) resisting the european rules... lol

I'm also liking the idea of the photopass in advance, but my problem there is that I get carried away with myself: If I let my sister in law have my photopass number, then get her to post them to facebook, I'd let her have my facebook login so everyone can see... :rotfl:

Interesting to see that some places are trialling the wifi, but I doubt we'll go searching for it. Maybe we'll just get lucky at some point!
