Hi all,

I was reading the thread about tour groups being back. I know I read in the thread a CM said that July is a big month for the Latin American tour groups, but does it go into August as well? My question is, are the teen tour groups there say August 9th?

We go to WDW every August and have never seen them, but we usually go later in August. This year we are going earlier, the second week.

Thanks,
Marina

There will still be a few groups then, but nothing like July-the "peak season" should be winding down when you go..

I "think" the Super Greeters left last year on August 12.:)

We go yearly for two weeks in the middle of August. I've only ever seen a couple of smaller groups.

Same experience here. We have visited in mid to late August for quite a few years, and only have seen the occasional smaller tour group. We did go once in July, and there was a HUGE difference in the number, and size of the tour groups compared to our August visits.

We traveled 1st into 2nd week of August and found that the later you are in August the lesser chance of seeing any tour groups. I think we saw a few during the 1st few days of August. After that, nothing.

OP, I asked this a while ago too since we will be there starting August 3. Sounds like we have a low chance of running into very many of them. Have a great trip!

I often see posts referencing Latin American or Brazilian tour groups and was wondering how different they are from, for example, the cheerleading or sports groups from all different areas of the United States, like New Jersey or Ohio? I am an annual pass holder and visited various times of the year, and encountered several of the groups, and have always wondered why so many people differentiate the groups because of nationalities?

I don think anyone has an issue with WHERE they are from as much as HOW they behave. I've been there with cheer/dance groups and although they can be annoying, the Latin American groups IN MY OPINION ar completely obnoxious. Part of it is is cultural. As Americans we are taught early on about line etiquette and honestly I think in some parts of the world things work differently. Also, the groups we encountered didn't have a sense of "personal space respect ". I think that is also a cultural thing. In my personal experiences with them I've seen them knock people down and out of their way. They blatantly cut in lines and when confronted say they don't speak English. We were her 2 years ago on July 4 and during the national anthem, they began chanting about Brazil. It was very rude.

Absolutely, I agree it's the HOW and WHAT they do not WHO or WHERE they are from. I don't care where the tour groups are from, -- they could be a teen group from right here in the USA. I don't care where these tour groups are from - all I know is from threads I have read, many of these groups are present in the parks in July. And I have read a lot of posts about large groups pushing past others - heedless of who gets hurt, as well as chanting which frankly takes away some of the magic for me. For me as a mom with 2 kids, it really scares me to think my kids could get knocked down and harmed because a bunch of teens are doing the human chain thing or knocking people out of their way. I can safely move my kids out of the way if one or two people trying to push their way past us in line, but not a group pf 20 or more.

I adore kids and teens - but a large group of unsupervised teens can go in a bad direction. Any tour guide that allows or encourages this human chain / cutting / pushing past and trampling others is not a chaperone in my book. Clearly Disney needs to restructure this experience so ALL guests in the park have a safe, enjoyable time. At over $100. a day for park admission, I don't want to have to worry that my kids are going to get trampled because Disney does not want to upset these touring groups by enforcing simple rules that are all about civility - no pushing / shoving / cutting in line / stepping on others. Doesn't seem unreasonable for me to expect Disney to enforce these rules that should apply to anyone who enters their parks.

I get that these tour groups make a lot of revenue for Disney..... but then again don't we???? Hell, I'm paying $ 6781. for a week stay - and that's without airfare!!

All I'm saying is that if Disney is taking money from all of us, they need to provide a SAFE experience for all of their guests. People who travel to WDW when there are teen tour groups should not have to worry about themselves or their kids getting mowed down in a line by a group of teens. I have been reading about this issue for years (here as well as other boards) so clearly it's an issue that Disney has not addressed.
