Are the Pirates of the Caribbean boats still taking on water?

Title pretty much says it. I read here some weeks back that redesigned PoC boats were getting sloppy with lots of water coming in and soaking shoes. Any update?

Thanks.

Didn't get our toes wet when we rode it last week, Dan!

For the first time we got very wet bottoms last trip...water over the side and on the seat. There was a little water on the seats when we got in so I know it wasn't just us.

We've ridden 50+ times , so I still hope it was just a fluke.

Three of us were in the second row in Mid-February, water came over the side and DD was as soaked as she gets on Splash Mountain! DH and I got off with wet bottoms. Everyone else in our boat was completely dry and thought we were crazy people for screaming until they saw our wet clothing after the ride.

~Wow! This is the first time I've ever heard of this. I didn't know POTC got new boats, but I would totally hate for my shoes to get soaked with that water. I don't know how true it is but this ride is highly rumored as a prime location for people to dump ashes. Ewww. :(

We were in the front row on Sunday and shoes /shorts were soaked! Luckily, it was a warm, dry day so they dried quickly.

Last October we rode it in the front and got absolutely, completely drenched. I haven't ridden Splash, but I would bet it was comparable to that. I could not believe how wet we got! That was a first for us, we had never gotten more than a bit splashed on POTC before.

We rode in the front in December and my Vera Bradley backpack was dripping :(

We rode in the front in September in the new boats, and did not get wet other than the splashes from the cannons. :goodvibes

We took up the last two rows and didn't get anything more than a little sprinkle.

Last September, we rode in the front row and got really wet at the bottom of the "drop", water came in over the side. As you know, it's dark in that drop area so it was a big surprise to us! LOL! Our group just laughed about it but I can see how it might upset some...

Got some of that wonderful water in my eye when we went on in October. Skirt got all wet and my contacts all messed up. I was not amused.we were in the front row.

Wow. Did not realize this was an issue. Like alot of other folks, I like floating in the water without getting wet.

We rode twice when we were down the first week in March and didn't have any issues with water coming into the boats.

We were there in January and like others stated we got wet (specifically my husband) when we got to the bottom of the drop. Water came over the sides and wet his pant leg and shoes. It wasn't a huge deal, just unexpected. I don't remember what row we were seated in. We rode several times during our trip and it only happened once.

Well, sounds like it is still somewhat of a problem, or at least a nuisance at a minimum. I will remember to lift my feet while going down that hill.

I didn't know they got new boats? How are the new boats different? So it seems like if your seated in the front your most likely to get wet...

Yeah I sat in the front and on the right hand side of the boat and got pretty wet on my shorts and shoes.

I'm going in a few days so I am curious to see if it happens again.

Thanks for the heads up on this. My kids always ask for the front but I certainly don't want to get wet!
