Are the MyMagic+ worth trying?

Well got mY MB and could find no way to use it for any fireworks etc only gave me 4 sets of choices for FP+ that they chose not that I chose

Sometimes the fireworks and parades are not released until closer to your trip, also the bookings for them are very popular.

Also you can change any of the choices that they suggest and pick your own from what is available.

Are you able to reserve a Fastpass at two different resorts? We like to park hop. For example, I would like to reserve a Fastpass at AK for Everest and the safari then go over to the MK later that day and get one for BTMR and SM.

Is that even possible?

No, at this time it is limited to 3, at one park. We were given a bonus 4th one but that is not going to happen all the time for everyone, it is random.

Is there some reason you are opposed to FP+? It is simply a way to book FPs in advance. You can even do it day-of if you don't want to plan so far in advance.

Well, two of our tickets were purchased from Undercover Tourist, and I understand that there have been problems linking them, and the other ticket will be via an AP voucher, and I understand that there have been problems linking those. Also, we generally go to more than one park per day, so only being able to get FPs for one park is not terribly helpful. Finally, I don't really want to be locked into a particular schedule. While I love to plan, we like to tour based on actual crowds, how we are feeling etc. The existing FP system at least allows for SOME spontaneity. I don't think I am going to like the new system, so will enjoy the old one while it lasts. Maybe I am just a dinosaur.

My family members' names all showed up automatically in my MDE account after I linked our DVC reservations to my account. I didn't do anything; I haven't clicked on the email link next to their names either. Do I have to do anything more in terms of creating their profiles? I'm in charge of managing all trip-related plans.

Nope, that is all you need to do. You can assign an avatar to each one if you would like.

When you link tickets you will assign each one to someone's profile.

Loved MagicBands & FP +. We used a FP+ for the daytime MK parade & Fantasmic. Made it so much easier.

Well so far for us Magic Bands are not working. Epcot in general on arrival on Wed afternoon all screwed up(their system), Thurs went to MK for EMH go to SM shut down(did not open until around 10:30) figured we would go over to TM(we don't do much in Fantasyland on EMH usually just SM and get our fill and TM doesn't open until after 9 so back over to SM area did Buzz and TA, SM did not open over to TM at 9 rode on Stand by, went to splash and rode stand by back over to try to use FP+ at TM guess what broken down. went and had early lunch... go back and TM finally back up and thank goodness CM remembered us and in we went. She informed us SM back up back again across park to use that FP+ rode and used a regular fast pass and went back over to ride Pirates and long line for standby Left park.
Today go over to DHS for EMH long lines at bag check and then at ticket entry... Oh lots of people with out bands so looked at card being held by person in front of me that looked like room key had no dates on it? DH had trouble again with bands getting into park 3 for 3 and all they worried about was us being able to charge stuff, which for some reason we had no trouble with just getting into room and getting into park. Anyway head over to TSM closed down. So went and used Stand by on Star Wars, TOT and RNR no problem. Then used FP+ at TSM at like 11:30 fast pass line out the door down the block to the area where the Pirate thing is.. they must have decided people were upset because all of a sudden the line started to move. Then used ToT FP+ and left that park too left the other FP+ for RNR unused. So so far not seeing too much of an advantage, Maybe Disney should have used some of the money they spent on this system instead to make sure the rides work. This really has been the worst trip so far ever. And this is getting up early both days.. think we will just walk around EPCOT tonight and do nothing. maybe tomorrow early at AK will be better and maybe next week will be better too? Oh good thing we had our AP and regular room key with us.

I just did a test and I must say I like everything about MyMagic+ except FP+. At first I did make my FP+ booking at hone. About a day into the trip I realized I wanted to change plans and such. I did not want to get tied into any particular park at any given time. So I cancelled all of my remaining FP+. Now I did use it once in the parks a few times but still I found it a waste. I say that because there were several instances when I only wanted one FP and they system would force me into to more attractions. Why could I not only pick one? So as a whole I like the bands and stuff but I think FP+ is over kill and needs to be better thought out. Sent from my iPhone 5 using DISBoards

Well we are here but we had linked ressie. So the second half we get to use them. But it looks like today everyone is getting them. Asked at the front desk but no luck getting them activated early.
