We are going in mid-May 08 which is regular season. Do I have a chance of receiving 40% off during that time? If not, is AAA the next best thing? We live in Ohio so a AP wouldn't be feasable.

I would go ahead and book your room with the AAA rate and at least lock that in before they are gone for your dates. Then if some promotion comes along that works for you, call and rebook using the new rate. :upsidedow

It is hard to know as things change from year to year but this year the 40% off code had to check in by March 7 or not until May 28, so "mid-May" would be out. There is a promotion for purchasing base tickets and getting a free upgrade to hopper fun and more passes. These were both for all resorts

If ya don't mind me asking why does, "live in Ohio so a AP wouldn't be feasable", mean?
Yes. is the answer to your question.

It means they wouldn't get enough days in the park in 12 months to justify an AP .. despite the room discounts it may or may not offer... as the case may be.

We live in MI and did buy an AP one year because the money we saved on the room was more than the difference between the cost of the AP and the tickets we would have purchased for the trip. You do not need the AP until you check in so you can just watch the rates for AP and see if this works for you. We also planned another trip 11 months later so got 2 vacations out of the passes
