Are suites worth it?

I would like to split a stay with GF and AKL. We usually do 2 connecting at GF and have done this as well as AKL. I wondered if it would be worth doing a 2 BR suite at AKL and having the option of the sunrise safarii.

I have never stayed in a suite, but if you have the means, I say go for it! I have seen pictures of a one-bedroom suite at AKL and it is GORGEOUS!!! Go for it!

Speaking of suites, my dad is planning on taking us to WL within the next few years and wants to book us in the best suite there, so maybe I will get to stay in a suite after all!

I do think it's worth it if you can afford it!

I think the suites at Disney World are awesome if you can afford them.

I'm hoping so. I've got the Presidental Suite (Royal Asante) at the AKL booked for next July for three days. We're beginning our vacation at YC with two concierge rooms and splurging the last three days at AKL. I hope I can answer your question with a resounding YES when we return! :goodvibes

Would you believe that I was upgraded to a two-bedroom suite two years ago? It was on the second floor of AKL, huge balcony; all of the suites at AKL have the BEST views of the savannah. It consists of a living room with pull out couch, and a sliding door to balcony. French doors connect to an inner bedroom with king bed, slider to same balcony, and an enormous bathroom, with a giant shower with a seat, and separate bathtub, double sinks. There is another powder room in the entrance to suite, consisting of toilet and sink; down the hall there is another bedroom with queen bed and bunk beds, and another slider to another balcony around the corner. And, of course, another bathroom. The living room had round table and 4 chairs, a sink, mini fridge, and I think a microwave. Very, very beautiful layout and very nicely furnished. There was definitely some Disney magic going on during that trip for me! :goodvibes I just love the AKL. Oh, yes, and concierge services go along with the suite.

Whether it's worth it depends on the amount of time you spend in the room. I LOVE a nice hotel room. I don't spend a huge amount of time in the room, but I really enjoy room time. DH is the opposite...he should actually stay at the cheapest hovel anybody offers because he just can't stand to sit in a room. Also, only do it if you can part with the money easily...it's no fun if you're sitting there wondering what you're going to do when the credit card bill arrives.

Suites are the best, but we stay in the rooms alot and take advantage of the resort. If you are a park commando then a deluxe room would suffice. As for the Assante Suite, I stayed a few months ago in the Royal Kuba and liked it very much. There are only subtle differences between the 2 other than $$$. I also have stayed in the WL Presidential and have the rooms booked again for 5 days this christmas. I have stayed in the 2 bedroom suites at AKL numerous times and think that they are great. The upper floors have the big thatch covered balcony, the lower floors have smaller balconies. Keep in mind that the suites are out on the ends so walking to concierge in the AM for coffee can be a trek!!!
