Are Pins and Layards available at DTD?

Are the starter sets available at Downtown Disney shops? I know I would like to start DD and I on this during our trip in October. I'm hoping to get s couple sets before we actually hit the parks.

Since DD is so little, I would like to introduce the layard and explain it to her before the hustle and bustle of entering the park and trying to rush her into it.

Since we are arriving extra early on our arrival day with no plans, I'm hoping the will be ones available at DTD, and have the afternoon and evening to practice with her.

Are there lots of different starter sets, or just a general one?

They have an entire shop devoted to pins at Downtown Disney. It's called Disney Pin Traders and they have several styles of starter sets and lanyards as well as thousands of pins there.

Check Pin Traders across from Once Upon a Toy or the World of Disney Store. Either one should have starter lanyard sets.

There are many different ones to choose from and vary in price depending on how many pins are on the set.

They have tons of sets. They even have some geared to younger traders (under 12) now that are less expensive than the adult deluxe sets. We were very happy to find them!

Went to WOD in New York today - they had a pretty good selection also.

I didn't know that.

I just thought they had pins.

Hmm i'll have to check it out...

I do know that I traded for my best pins in DTD, not the parks.
