Are people still having issues with the magic bands falling off?

I know there were some issues when the bands first came out but I'm wondering if maybe Disney made any modifications to the band to help with this? I haven't heard many people complaining about it like I used to.

My husband and I wore ours for almost 2 weeks in September - his was the full size and mine was the modified smaller size - we didn't have any issues with them falling off. They snap together pretty tightly - maybe if you took them on and off a lot, it'd be more of a risk?

We had 11 people from kids to senior citizens for a week in January and not a single person had a problem with them falling off.

We did not have problems over 9 days, they stayed on fine.

I even wore mine kind of loose like a bangle because my wrist is too big for child size but too small for adult size, and putting it in the smallest adult size shaped it weird and I couldn't line up the Mickey head. So I loosened it (not so loose that it could come over my hand obviously) and it stayed fine.

No problems at all with our Bands falling off during our week long trip in December. I sized mine down by removing the strip. My husband wore the regular size.

They haven't changed. They won't fall off usually, but they will pop off if you catch them on something or apply pressure just the right way. DD's popped off a couple of times when she caught or knocked it on something, but she always felt it and caught it. I think DH's popped off when he picked her up once. I've heard that picking up and putting down kids tends to be a time when they pop off quite a bit. We found one in the pool and turned it in- I'm guessing the current of swimming properly got it. I'd say just always make sure they are still on everyone's wrist when you leave a pool area. Other than that, it isn't a big problem, but just kind of be aware of the possibility. We had just a few pop offs during our 8 day stay.

No issues with them falling off after using them for 2 separate trips.

I did have issues with them WORKING though. :P

Mine fell off a couple of times on our 4-day trip. It happened when I was reaching for something and it got bumped into (e.g. when I leaned over to buckle up my kids in one of the rides).

Maybe it's just me but it seems like they are shaped wrong; i.e. they're not shaped the way that a wrist is shaped. I wish they were just a little bit more comfortable. Maybe it's just me.

Mine popped off on Space Mountain! I caught it though.... I could not believe I caught it.

It also popped off in the line for Pirates and rolled under a trash can. A couple of nice people in line were helping me find it and we all couldn't believe how it just vanished until an eagle eyed helper spotted it UNDER a trash can.

It popped off a couple of other times but none as memorable as those two. I was sure I was going to lose it completely and go home with a grey band.

Has anyone had a problem with them coming off while using those little glow in the dark sliders they were handing out end of last year, the ones that said 2013? DH and I used these on our bands and didn't have even a close call with losing our bands. And while on the subject, has anyone gotten the sliders since January 1? I am just curious as to whether they now say 2014. :confused3

What about Buzzy the Fly? Is there a tiny little Magic Band?

(Sorry, Beach & Yacht Club FAQ inside joke).

No problem for me with them coming off, I don't/won't wear them, keep it in my pocket.

9 days last fall. Not one fell off. I did have to wear mine kinda crooked on my wrist for it to feel comfortable though (the mickey was sort of behind my thumb joint as opposed to flat on my wrist like a watch).

Same. My boyfriend and I spend over a week at AKL last Sept. and had the magic bands. We both wore them day and night, swam with them on at the water parks, and rode all the usual rides. Neither of us ever had the bands come off once. We went again in December and used the same bands and never had one come off. No one I know has complained that hey have ever had their magic bands come off, but quality control isn't perfect, and with any new product you will have some issues for some people.

As a couple of poster have mentioned, there's no need to wear them as a bracelet. My husband and I don't wear watches so the thought of these made him twinge (I was OK since it's just a vacation) But, he'll just stuff his in his front pocket and I'll probably wear mine on my backpack if I'm uncomfortable with it. Heck 0- get a lanyard or something and loop it over that. Point is - you don'[t have to wear it at all. Just have it available. Just like the older days with the cards. Those were "worn" on lanyards or taken out of a pocket. Nothing has changed except one extra way of availability.
