Are park to park tickets worth it?

Hi, all! We'll be visiting Universal February 20-22. We've booked Royal Pacific for the 20th so we'll have EPs the 20-21st. I haven't purchased tickets because I can't decide....and I'd love your input!

It'll be 4 of us- myself, husband, 7 and 9-yr old kiddos. I'm thinking we'll spend the 20 and 21st in the parks, and then thought if we felt like we'd missed any needs we could go back on the 22nd but that would just be a leisure day in either case so no EPs. With that in mind, do you all think it's worth the added expense to get the park to park tickets? Or would we be OK saving the money and just doing 1 park each day. I know we'd miss the Hogwart's Express, but just wondering if that added expense is worth it as far as being able to move between parks for some specific reason. Help!

I think it's worth it. We always bounce back and forth and treat it like one big part. It would annoy me to not be able to go everywhere- especially because you can *see* the other park and rides! It's not like they are far removed and out of sight/ out of mind.

The parks are so close together it would be a shame if you couldn’t amble back and forward if you so desired.......we wouldn’t be without being able to go between them......with EP you could get through rides in one park for the day and decide to wander over to the other......ideal.

Yes, it’s worth the money.

If any of you are Harry Potter fans I think the Hogwarts Express is not to be missed. Personally I really enjoy the freedom of moving between parks, they are so close together and close to your hotel so it is easy to go between. If no one cares about Harry Potter much, you can save the money if that is a concern. It really depends on your family touring style and if you are fine doing one park a day. Most people on here park hop! (I usually ride the Harry Potter rides in both parks every day.)

You will have a great trip either way. The money saved from not doing park-to-park could be budgeted towards other things, certainly. On the other hand, if a ride is down you may not have the chance to come back to it. And you have to pick just one park for the 22nd - could be a tough choice.

Are you getting the 2 days + 2 days free tickets?

I would definitely get the park to park option.

The Hogwarts Express is like 2 rides, as it's different in each direction. I wouldn't want to forgo the train, but that's just me...

Worth is so subjective. To me, yes it’s worth it. And good point made about a ride being down. On our last trip Gringotts was down a lot. Our first 2 days it was either down or queue was too long. Our third day was early entry and do or die for gringotts. We got it done! And then hopped to other park. I find it’s nice to be able to go back and forth. And riding the train is a must for us.

Is the Hogwart Express worth the money?
IMO no
and park to park works great when you’re there for a longer trip, I would save my money.

We always get park to park; with kids that don't do thrill rides, it's really nice to hit both parks on the same day if they want to shoot things on MIB right after we get off Spiderman. We did that even before HE was there, and we were glad that we did.

The first time yes, so you can experience train.... is it worth 40 to ride the train no.... I think there is plant to do with out crossing over

Tough call for me. My family visits once a year for HHN, but we stay more than 4 days, so getting an AP is our cheapest ticket option. When we go to the parks, though, we tend to stay in one park each day. Sometimes, we feel like taking the HE to the other park, but most days we do not.

That being said, if I was planning a 2-day trip, I might go ahead and opt for the ability to park hop if needed. When you look at the attractions in each park, if you have the feeling that you don't have enough to do to fill a whole day in one park, then trust that feeling and get P2P. You don't want to be in a situation where you feel "stuck" in one park when you're ready for something else.
