Are park passes included when booking land/sea??

We are planning on booking a land/sea vacation this year or next & I've priced it by booking the whole package through DCL & then by also doing it separately. Doing it separately saves over $1500 unless the DCL package includes the park hopper passes....which STILL means I would save $500 by booking separately.

I wonder why anyone would book it all together if it is so much cheaper to do it separately?? I also can't find anywhere whether or not the DCL package DOES or DOES NOT include the park passes. TIA for any advice.

Yes the Land/Sea PAckage does include Ultimate Park Hopper Passes (previously known as Unlimited Magic Pass)

Yes there are times you can book the components of the package separately. I have done that myself. Why do people buy the package then. Because it is the ultimate "Hakuna Matata" - no worries. DCL and WDW take care of everything for you, you just send in the checks.

Park passes are included in the land/sea pkg, but NOT FOOD. Many people assume that food is included on the land portion of the WDW stay. It is not. If it was included in might make more sense to book the whole pkg.

I agree with you....why book the package if you can do it cheaper separately. Some people just don't want the inconvenience of pricing out everything separately and doing the research. I think spending the time researching prices makes a huge difference. You also have more flexibility in which resort you want to stay in and for how long if you do it yourself.

Interesting. I've always booked my own WDW room and park tickets because it is always cheaper than the WDW packages. However, when I added the land portion to our 3 day cruise, I found the opposite to be true. DCL only charged me an additional $1000 for the 4 days, total. Park passes for 4 days for the 3 of us would be about $750, and a moderate room for 4 nights would be about $500. So, I booked through the cruise line.

Did I get a deal, or am I applying faulty math?

I haven't been yet (just in the dreaming stages LOL), but I think I'd book separately because I would want a nice cabin, but don't need anything more than a moderate at WDW....

I would imagine I could save substantially that way.

we booked our entire land / sea package through DCL because it was less expensive. We are staying in the Contemporary Tower and a cat 5 on the Wonder 10/31/02 - 11/07/02. It was going to be a lot more expensive if we were to get the same room at the Contemporary Tower booking it separately.

We also booked the Contemporary through SOG expansion for three nights after our cruise - these rooms will be in the garden wings of the resort - but still very convenient with the monorail.

I guess it all depends on the season, the rooms you want on land and the cabin you want on the ship. People should price it all ways to see what is best for them.

One other thing that may prompt some people to book the pkg instead of seperately is if they want Category's 1, 2, or 3 for the cruise. My understanding is that you may not be able to get one of these cabins without book the land/sea pkg.
