Can anybody tell me if the Disney Deluxe plan is a good bargain or just a waste of money.I sort of like paying one flat fee and having all my meals included. But I have heard that some people have said that it is a waste of money.I have a 7 day trip planned in Oct 02 its going to cost me little over $3k for two people not including air and staying at Port Orleans .I'm debating to just book everthing on there own but and unsure:earsboy:

We've never done the Grand Plan, but have considered it. We decided against it because we don't want to feel like we have to eat at certain places in order to get our money's worth. We usually make some PS, but often we just go with the flow. A lot of the time, we are not hungry enough for a big dinner after a big day at the parks. We are especially, not big breakfast eaters. A doughnut on the run is fine for us.

Package "deals" are hardly ever a deal. If you look up older posts, you'll read about many people's opinions against packages. They overcharge you an arm and a leg to do pretty much what you could book by yourself, saving hundreds or even thousands of dollars. They will not itemize the cost of the package for you, but when you take the initiative to find out, you realize that a lot of money is unaccounted for.

I have also heard that a lot of food goes to waste in that particular package. Meaning, they offer so many meals that most humans really can not eat! And they are charging you for all that too.

Listen, you can still stay at the PO without a package. You can still get all those flex features by yourself. Look up codes in mousesavers.com, discounts through AAA, the Entertainment book (for great discuonts in nice offsite hotels), hotel and airline websites and learn the ropes. It is much sweeter to end with hundreds of dollars that would otherwise go to someone else, in your pocket for YOUR vacation!

Our experience supports what 'Boo says--price items you want separately. You'lll come out ahead in virtually every case.Plus, you won't waste money on what you don't need or want. With the discounts out there, you could save hundreds.
