are our expectations unreachable?

Your trip will not be perfect, people are human, mistakes happen. The type A compulsive planner might let it ruin their trip, but I don't let it ruin mine. Anyone who goes on and on about the endless pixie dust and how everything was perfect may have rose colored glasses on (which isn't a bad thing). I think sometimes the endless reading of these boards does make expectations unrealistic. Just keep yourself grounded, you will be fine.

the perfect trip would be a park and resort filled with people like Fig and all of you others with the great attitudes. tht would truly be magical. thanks for reminding me what really make WDW magical.

Figaro--you are a champ!!!! I am teary eyed at the thought of that poor little girl. You are the kind of person I "hope" for every time I am out with my super curious 6YO, and he starts questioning chairs, braces, crutches, etc. Thanks for being so kind to her. I think I would have run over her mom. ;)

I agree with everyone. We are all human and no one is perfect - even though there are some people who are either having a bad day or a just miserable in life. Things do go wrong. I also try not to expect too much with anything - that could be vacation, room, food, my children's test results, etc. We have to enjoy and make the best of what and where we are in or we will also become miserable too. I like the commercial where one person smiles and it causes a chain reaction of smiles.:D

Thank You Figaro,

I know I am not alone. It's sad when you think how these people act in public...........IMAGINE how they must act behind walls.   That poor little girl was just trying to be curtious and her Mom is sending her the signal that it is OK to be inconsiderate. Hopefully the little girl will grow up knowing better and maintain her good manners despite the mom.

It goes to show you, all you have to do is not let the situation bother you and read a little more into it to make it a positive one.
They may be rude now, but someone has to live with them. They might also be the type of people that change jobs every 90 days. Oh well, it takes all types to make the world go round.
You have to admit, they make it fun for us.:teeth: :teeth:

Heading Home to the GF in only 35 days.

:hyper: :hyper:

for me cancer really made me not sweat the small stuff and.....I am just grateful that I can afford to go to DW if it is in a small way. I never spend 5,000 on a vacation 1,500 - 1,700 is about all I spend, which to me it isn't about where you stay or how much you spend, it is that you are in a place that you want to go with people that I assume you love or want to be with sharing a wonderful experience, that is what it is all about, IMO there is nothing that lives up to the expectations of a "perfect vacation"

Again, JMO
