Are live stage shows broadcast on stateroom TV?

We were on Fantasy and one night I went to Remy with my dad while others in my family went to the show and dinner at MDR. Well my family had lots of great things to say about that show (a variety performer I hadn't seen before), and I was curious as to what I had missed...

There was a Walt Disney Theater channel on the stateroom TV that I thought sometimes had stage shows, so I checked there - but that night the channel just showed logo and curtain whenever I flipped past it.

Does anyone know if they do record the live stage show and show it on TV, and if so, at what times??

They do show the production shows on the TV in the room. Usually 2 (maybe 3) times. But, it's a taped filming of a different cast, not the actual show cast that's onboard your cruise. It doesn't run all day on that channel, only a couple of times. I don't think it's at the actual show times, maybe earlier in the day.

When we were on the Fantasy last Jan. They showed the Disney live shows, but not the non-Disney performers. I only saw the shows being shown on the same night that they were being performed, never any other time. I had a case of sea sickness during the Aladin show, watched it in the room while dh saw it in the theater. He came to check on me afterwards and we watched it in the room again. As pp, was a different cast.

Thanks! I should have thought to suggest this on the survey card - with so many activities going on, it'd be nice to loop a recording of every night's live show several times that night/following day on the WD theater channel.

Yeah, that isn't going to happen. With all the noise and activity going on in the audience, they're not going to get a clean recording to show. That's probably why they recorded an audience-free "rehearsal" for the actual show that's shown.

i was disappointed on our recent med cruise because, after several days of sight seeing and being exhausted, we couldn't physically make it to the Walt show on the Magic (I cant recall the actual title, but it is Walt Disney the man themed and we had never seen it).... so we thought oh! it will be on the TV because there is a channel that is dedicated only to the shows and we had noticed it that day in particular.... so anyway, that show was not on the TV channel and we missed it!!! WAAAAAHHHH!!! haha - we were very disappointed (but also super tired!!).

but the main shows, yes, you can see i the room! :)

What show is that? The standard 3 production shows on the Magic are Twice Charmed, Tangled, and Disney Dreams. Those are the three that are recorded and shown on the TV. Not the "some itineraries" ones.

The Walt Disney show was very good...I forget the actual name but I liked it a lot.

Only on the Magic, Walt Disney: The Dream Goes On. Began in 2012 and is shown on some itineraries.

Yeah, I went to Scott's page and found it. They only record the ones that are on all sailings though.

We have seen it on a few of our cruises, love it and excited any time we see it is on the itinerary.

I agree that it is not likely to happen, but I don't think the reason is audio. Since all performers are mic'd up and the music to to a track (not live orchestra), it would be very easy to get clean audio directly from the board. The bigger issue is lighting. Theater style lighting is not great for video cameras. If you just had one camera on a wide shot of the stage, you could at least avoid having a camera operator, switcher and technical director, but that wouldn't produce a good view of the show, mostly due to lighting.

Video cameras have made great strides in sensor technology and can operate in low light much better than a few years ago, but they still produce a pretty grainy image when things get pretty dark on stage. Capturing a decent video is far more difficult than the sound.
