We are going to be in WDW April 26 - May 2. I know that is right during one of the big cheer/dance competitions, but I have heard that the groups of 15-year-old girls from South American countries are worse. Another site said the 15s are more common in January and July. Is this still true? How likely are we to encounter them the last week in April?

We are staying at POR.

Also, is it true that the Indiana Jones Show will be shut down for cheerleaders? Any other conflicts of this sort I should be aware of?

Thanks!

Yes it is true about January and July. those are the months when they have school breaks. You might still see some because not all of the groups are confined to those months. Another thing that happens in April and May is that local schools often have field trips to Epcot for the flower/garden festival.

Yes, the cheerleaders generally have some sort of gathering in that theater. Also, there will be a private party for them at DHS on 4/27. Doesn't look like the park is shutting down early for that, but the IJ show might be.

Thanks! Should we expect Indiana Jones to be shut down every day that week? Planning on going to HS on April 30 and May 1.

No idea. Id' do the 30th because I think that is in between cheerleading tourneys.

Cheerleading Worlds and Cheerleading Summit falls only on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Doubtful that Indiana Jones is effected o the other days.

No,neither Cheer and Dance Worlds(first part of your trip) or The Summit(last part of your trip) use the Epic Stunt Spectacular Theater.

The Cheer portions of both events are at ESPN WWoS and the Dance portions of both events are at Epcot's World ShowPlace.:)

The 15s will not be there during your Holiday, but, personally I think all Guests should experience them at least once !lol:)

Great news on both accounts! Thanks everyone. I feel lucky. I don't recall groups of cheerleaders or 15s on any of my past trips but I was particularly worried about the 15s.
Will any portions of World Showplace be off-limits to the general public as a result of the dance competitions?

No,World ShowPLACE is the huge "special events" venue between Canada and United Kingdom.

World ShowPLACE is in World ShowCASE,but only opens up for Special/Private Events.

The Dance Competitions will have virtually no effect on normal World Showcase operations.:)

I don't recall big cheer/dance groups but there were a decent amount of school groups. It didn't make things unbearable though & we're going back at this time this year...
