Are jeans permitted in the dining rooms at dinnertime?

I'm headed on a 7 night Western cruise next week and I called DCL just because I needed to make absolutely sure that jeans were ok. I'm just the type of person that needs redundancy... LOL has to do with my job. ;)

I called and talked to a DCL representative and got the sweetest lady on the phone who said that yes, jeans are definitely acceptable, just not jean shorts. :thumbsup2 I'm definitely planning on bringing some, along with some of my other dressier things. My parents are going to be very happy to hear this. :goodvibes

Sleeveless shirts are fine.

I usually take nice sleeveless blouses to wear with my capris to the dining room, and have never had a problem.

Well. That's not true. I have ad a problem - I *freeze*!!! The dining rooms aren't terribly warm, so if you're like me and tend towards being cold, I recommend making sure you have a sweater to go over those sleeveless blouses! I'm getting to the point where I'm trying to find nicer long-sleeved blouses so I can take those instead!:rotfl:

We were on the Western in Feb., and the woman at the table next to us wore ratty, old, riped jean shorts to dinner almost every night. No one said anything to her, and she looked like she did not care what others thought. Not saying I agree or disagree, just that she was alowed to eat in the dining room.

oooh...those shorts sound like my secret weapon at the ports. :lmao: I usually throw on a pair of cutoffs and the shop owners leave me alone. They think, "Oh this poor girl won't have any money to buy something in MY shop!":rotfl2: Never fear...I've never worn them to dinner. Plus, mine aren't too ratty, just frayed. Super comfy too.

Last summer in the Med, the woman at the table next to us wore a different bedazzled yoga pants and halter/tube top combination every night... in the most obnoxious of colors. A 40-something mother of two with 'hot' and 'sexy' stamped across her butt in rhinestones every night. And the tops were so low cut that she could've been arrested for indecent exposure. She was dressed like that all ten nights, with the exception of the last night when the family neglected to show up and tip our fabulous waiters... And no, she was not asked to leave once.

Anyway, I'm sure if you know the definition of tasteful and family-appropriate, you should be fine in the dining rooms.
