Are Freshmen allowed to go to Prom?

At our school there was a separate Junior prom ( held in May) and Senior Prom( the weekend of graduation). The junior prom was held in the HS caf and as long as you went with a junior you could go. the senior prom was held where ever the prom committee wanted it..and as long as you went with a senior anyone could go.. I didnt go to my junior prom, I went to NYC with the drama club instead, we saw 2 Broadway shows and it was a weekend trip, It was the same price buying a dress and a prom ticket and I got to hang out with the guy I liked for the Entire weekend...It was better than going to the prom alone..( plus I was going to his senior prom, 3 weeks later)

I dont see the problem with allowing freshman go to the prom, as long as the prom is properly chaperoned.

The policy is that freshmen and sophomores are allowed to attend if accompanied by a junior or senior.

That's how it is at the high school I went to.

I went to one HS for 9 and 10 and a different HS for 11 and 12 (we moved). The 9/10 HS, it was a Senior Prom. The Juniors raised the money for it and threw it for the Seniors. Only Seniors were invited unless you were coming as the date/guest of a Senior.

The 11/12 high school, it was a Junior/Senior prom and all Juniors and Seniors were invited and underclassmen could come as the date/guest of an upperclassman.
