Are FD Rooms Really that Scarce?

I got what I wanted this morning at 6:30 AM CST and my mom was able to get the same resort at about 2 CST today (Pop Standard) but it seems like many others did not get what they wanted.

Is the number of rooms allocated to FD really that small to sell out so quickly?

I don't know what it's been like in the past, this was my first time trying, but they are definitely scarce now and were about 3 hours after the offer came out, at least for my dates. I got online at 6am CST and started calling. Got nothing but a busy signal for 2 hours on the phone and the website didn't work correctly until almost 7am CST, an hour after the phone lines opened. By then the only value resort available for my dates was All Star Sports. By about 10am (maybe earlier) the only ones available were Deluxe resorts. By some twist of fate I ended up with POP, but it was difficult.

I was curious so I just checked my dates (late October/early November) and it shows there is still availability at several values (including Pop), moderates (CBR and CSR) and deluxes.

Some dates must be in higher demand.

It depends on the dates. Parts of the FD period are DEAD at the resorts, with a whole bunch of rooms available for this deal. Other parts of the FD period have fewer roms available at the ourset, but more people interested in those rooms.

My dates at the end of October only have more expensive rooms and suites available

I could have booked CBR or CSR for my dates of Dec. 23 - Jan 1. Also, WL was available for that time period. Didn't check anything else.

I booked first thing on the Visa release date and got exactly what I wanted for my dates Dec 16-27. Checked just now and every resort is still available for my dates, including Lion King and Cars suites - you must have chosen really popular dates!
