These signs are all over WDW in the restrooms. What the heck is going on? Didn't get much response over in the trip reports. Anyone? Bueller? This is CRAZINESS!! :)

Brawny (sponsor of L!M!A! at MGM) makes Sparkle paper towels and this was part of their sponsorship deal.

Most of the signs like that have been placed in restrooms all over the Central Florida area (even Walmart has them)... Being a cultural melting pot, it is just a reminder to ALL that washing your hands is a good idea. I think they are more to remind everyone (as all cultures do not share the same hygiene technics) that this is necessary, it is not that Americans are lazy.

And Sparkle is a sponser as mentioned above...

Actually, I'm very glad they put those signs in the all the WDW restrooms. When I was there in February, I was just about to go have lunch. I finished going to the bathroom, and as I was walking out, I KNEW I had forgotten something. Sure enough, I happened to look over at the sink, saw the sign, and remembered - DOH - I need to wash my hands! :)

I think it is important to have postings like these. Everyone knows to wash their hands, but there are loads of people who do not. Do you know how many illnesses could be prevented from spreading if everyone just washed their hands properly?

This is a public service announcement, lol.

Sadly I have seen women not wash after using the toilet, so I guess there are people who need to read how to wash. It is also for the advertising.

That sign cracks me up. :rotfl:

But, seriously.........Many people do not wash their hands after using the restroom. I guess the reminder can't hurt, right?

I notice a lot more people than I used to who just leave the restroom without washing their hands. I don't think those signs will help. They know how to wash their hands; they just choose not to.

I agree - it's not so much people need lessons, but a reminder - here's my version of the sign:

Attention People of the World!!
You all know how to wash your hands,
we don't need to tell you that,
but for those with memory lapse
"Wet hands and apply soap.
Scrub hands and rinse.
Dry hands thoroughly
using paper towels."

NOW JUST DO IT!!!
I HAVE TO EAT LUNCH
AFTER I LEAVE THIS RESTROOM
AND WILL POINT YOU OUT
IF YOU DIDN'T WASH, RINSE & DRY!!!

ok, off my soap box now - wonder if it's more women than men - :scratchin

I figured that it was simply a way for "Sparkle" to get some advertising.

I don't think the signs would be there if there wasn't a sponsor.

I don't mind the signs that remind people to wash their hands. I've seen those for years and they seem reasonable. What seems bizarre about this one is that it gives you specific directions as to how to do it. :lmao:

I always get step 2 and step 3 mixed up so I'm glad that they have these signs up. (Just a stupid American responding)

Heck, I could use a few signs like that in my office bathrooms. You can not imagine how many women I see come out of the stall and walk out of the bathroom without washing their hands. I've become so paranoid that I use the napkin I dried my hands with to open the door when I'm done. And I don't eat from public food sources in the office. If I'm not the first one to touch it, I don't go near it. It's like the unwrapped pillow mints in restaurants, we call them pee mints. LOL

I'm a handwashing nazi. I've told other people's children to wash their before leaving the restroom before. It amazes me that people will use the restroom and not wash their hands!! If I see someone do that, I never forget. You will always be branded in my mind as a non-washer.

I was told that you have to sing "Happy Birthday" twice.

I didn't know that they had signs that told you how to while washing your hands! As a Canadian I am finding that hilarious... but also it's almost weird that they put signs up on how to wash your hands.

:rotfl2:

My boyfriend found a pic from a men's bathroom somewhere and it had instructions on how to use the urnals.

Now if they would just have directions in the stalls telling me how to wipe. Maybe Charmin could sponsor that. :rotfl2:

While it bothers me greatly to see people leave a restroom without washing, it's a serious peeve for my husband. I've seen him walk out of a restroom following another man, and announce to me that "that guy didn't wash his hands, isn't that nasty?" loud enough for the man to hear.
It gets the other guy walking really fast. :lmao:
