Are amc and fandango crashed ?

Trying to get all set up to buy my force awakins tickets but it seems amc is crashed? Anyone else have luck?

I feel bad for the mom who tried to get on Fandango last night to buy tickets for Saturday's afternoon showing of "Hotel Transylvania 2".

I had signed up for text alerts from Fandango. I got the initial text at 7pm, I had some back and forth with the family regarding 2D vs. 3D. By the time I bought tickets 15 minutes later the site was running really slow. A couple minutes later I went in to check tickets for a friend and it was completely down.

I was thinking of that as well as I was hitting refresh.

Some friends of ours found great success when going directly to the theatre to buy tickets... you know... like ya did back when Carrie Fisher was last playing Leia!

It has been pretty crappy since about 7:30 est last night. I'm so lucky my fiance is a twitter fiend as he saw tweets about people having already bought their tickets and went to investigate. Thankfully we got our tickets before the masses knew they had launched early.

Used the Fandango iOS app to get 2 tickets this morning before heading to the office (around 8), and didn't have any issues.

Right after the trailer aired, I went to the theater 5 minutes from my house and bought a couple tickets to the 7 movie marathon starting at 1 AM on the 17th. I must hyave been the first one there because people started coming in as I was leaving.

It took me two hours to get tickets. All areas were slow for me (Fandango / AMC sites and Fandango / AMC apps). How they could not have anticipated the type of demand that was coming their way is beyond me.

Although if this was Disney's app / website during Free Dining promo's, 180 day ADR or 60 FP+ booking it would have been World War 3 around here. Ha.

SW fans on twitter were blaming Disney last night and saying this shows how they aren't capable of handling this franchise. I just laughed at the fact people really thought the ability to buy tickets was a reflection of the movie itself.
