Are ADR's necessary for lunch at the Rainforest Cafe in the Animal Kingdom?

If my family and I decide to visit the Animal Kingdom this August and want to have lunch at the Rainforest Cafe over there, is it necessary to make an ADR while in WDW or would we have a good chance of just walking-in when they would open for lunch?

I think you would be better off making an ADR. Everytime we have been the lines get very long...even the ones with reservations. You can always cancel if you decide not to go and it doesn't cost you anything.

I think you would wind up waiting a significant amount of time otherwise.

We walked right up and got a table after a 5 minute wait. that was the week before Christmas a very busy time. The AK was packed.

We had no problem getting in for lunch in June 2004...but with that said, I've got an ADR for our August trip this year. It's better to be safe than sorry and have the opportunity to sit and enjoy your meal in the air conditioning than not make an ADR and have to wander all around AK looking for something to eat and a place to sit to eat it.

You should try to make an ADR. We did for last week in July and had few options. I'm sure they leave room for walk ins, but do you really want to wait an hour?

Thank you all for the information. If we decide while in WDW to visit the Animal Kingdom, we will make the ADR for the Rainforest while we are there. I don't think it would be hard to get it last minute, compared to the other popular table service restaurants.
