Recent aquatica folks..What time in the morning has it been closed??

Read somewhere that if you purchase tickets "in advance"...does that mean "on line" that even if full, you can park by seaworld and take shuttle over?

Wonder if it will continue at this pace throughout summer...

Any input would be appreciated!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This has been the latest update on the capacity issue. Check out this thread below:

I drove by yesterday with the intent of hitting Aquatica. When I showed up at 11:00AM, the park was full up and the traffic situation was a zoo. I decided to compromise and go to Sea World instead, but the line to get into the parking lot was backed up out of the entrance and all the way to the Int. Drive / C. FL Parkway intersection.

I scrapped the whole idea and went home to swim in my apartment's pool instead. =P

The sign outside said they would possibly reopen at 3PM, but I didn't go back to find out if they did.

Sitting at the truck dealership right now, getting an oil change, but I may try again afterwards. Rainclouds are a good sign.. might cause some folks to stay / go home.

Best bet, I'd say, would be to call the park before you set out. They had a number on the sign, but I was driving and didn't have the chance to jot it down.

=)

I think it was on Wednesday. We arrived at 9:45 and got in. The parking was fine. There was a super long line to get it in to the park, but it moved very fast. Once we got in, the crowds didn't seem that bad. There are some slides that can send 8 people at a time, so the lines move very fast. The slides with the dolphins had the longest line and they can only send 2 at a time. We never did get on that one, but we had a great day. I highly recommend this park, if you can get in. There are lots of chairs available and pretty decent food options. The Roa's Rapids are a blast (fast version of a lazy river).

Also, crowds at this park *should* slow down (during the week) after this week. You're still seeing spring break crowds at Aquatica right now. There will probably be a lull between now and summer. But, I would bet my bottom dollar that there are going to be many, many days during the summer that the park is at capacity. So many residents have APs or have upgraded their fun cards, and the park is getting some great reviews.

We stayed 4 miles from aquatica and we love waterparks. We skipped it because it was mobbed. it was closed by 10:30 last Sat. and we were stuck in a ton of traffic because of it.

We just got back from Orlando today , and we went two times to Aquatica. We got there early around 8:30 am each time. we had to wait for the park to open and we learned if you already have tickets that you really don't have to wait in lines.Just walk around the ticket booths to get in. Aquatica will be busyier now I think since there was a shooting at Wet and Wild's parking lot this past weekend. A BIG fight inside the park that leaded to the shooting in the parking lot. :sad2:

Was in the park for about 30 minutes today conducting some business. NO CROWDS -

of course the temp was below 70

I was shocked how many people WERE there .... well the water is heated I guess.....

It was a good day to get in and out fast tho....parking was plentiful :thumbsup2

The place was dead-empty on Sunday.. but the weather was foul! Rainy, windy, and cold. Yuck!

I've been out a few times, but haven't taken my camera out yet. Next visit, though, I will certainly be.

=)

if you buy your tickets online you can definitely bypass ticketing lines - but still get there early - they are closing at limited capacity to make sure the park is comfortable for guests and to avoid overcrowding the park.

I picked this off the AAA web site. Don't recall seeing it anyplace else.... I'm a passholder and don't even recall getting an e-mail about it....

On Saturdays and Sundays -- beginning April 12, 2008 and lasting through the summer -- guests who purchase their Aquatica tickets in advance will be able to enter and enjoy the park a full hour earlier than the standard opening time. Standard opening times will vary between 9 and 10 am depending on the date. Please check the Website or call the park in advance to verify the operating schedule. The special offer for early admission is not applicable on weekdays (Monday-Friday).
