AP's to get 20 FP+ per quarter

But spreading people around the park better, doesn't make them money. The only way for it to generate more revenue is to get more people in the park. Reducing the experience (i.e. fewer FPs) and alienating your return guests isn't a good start.

Does it matter if the current wait time for Space Mountain is 120 minutes when there are 75K in the park or 120 minutes when there are 150K in the park? It certainly does matter for Disney, they just doubled their revenue for the day.

I would imagine that Disney also wants to plan for the future and not just for the present. How many would refuse to come back if there were routinely 150K in the park. I'll be the first one counted. ;)

If there are routinely 150k in the park, I'm not sure Disney would care if the "faithful" don't return...

I'm quite sure they won't care. But I would definitely be among the former flock of faithful.

If I can no longer find a low crowd time to go, I won't go. Period. A year or 2 ago I couldn't fathom a time when I would not be planning a Disney trip and going at least once a year.

Now I find myself thinking more and more about how it will be when I no longer go to Disney. I'm planning a trip for this year. And I'm sure we'll go back to the World to see the Mine Coaster in 2014. But then that could easily be it. You know. Unless Avatarland draws me back. :rotfl: Not.

Over the past year my husband has commented more than once that if we're going to go as often as we do, maybe we should check out DVC. Sadly, I'm now glad I never acted on that.

This is so untrue, Disney lives and breathes Guest Satisfaction Measurements. From all I know, this is all about improving Guest Satisfaction and thus Intentions to Return (which is the most important measurement index of all).

All I can say is with this Fast Pass+ bologna, we're skipping 2013. We usually go anywhere from 2-4 times/year. Hopefully by 2014 they will have worked out the kinks.

It entered into my decision to head west to DL this year. I'm sure they'll have FP enforcement by the end of the year when we go, but not FP+. I know Disney is happy as long as they take my money on one coast or the other. But if FP+ heads west and stays as suspected in FL, then we'll be done.

My daughter has been wanting to go to DLR so we might head there as well.
If we go to Orlando in 2013, it will be a Universal only trip. I like going where my return business is appreciated.

If they are trying to cram more and more people in the park, they're going to have to add fastpass+ to the bathrooms too. !!

Maybe that's what that fancy new Rapunzel area is for. Maybe they needed room for FP distribution. I already heard there might be a recharging station there for all the battery draining devices everyone will need.

Here's the problem with the 150 K discussion... Well public figures aren't released it's generally accepted the park closes at around 95 to 100k.

There is a law of diminishing returns at play here. If they keep diminishing my enjoyment of the parks I won't keep returning.

The number was just tossed out there, since we do not know the true numbers. But it was under the assumption that the FLE has increased park capacity. I'm not sure what metrics are used to compute that capacity - people per sq. ft of walking paths, bathrooms, etc. - but in theory it would have increased somewhat. I don't think it is anywhere near the 50-100% that some think though :)

Nice one :)

The really scary part of all of this, is that Disney IT is the worst of any company I have ever seen, can you imagine the bugs this will have and how long it will take for it to work properly if it ever does. :sad2:

If you can get in 9 attractions during a day at the parks you will leave happy. 9 is the magic number to keep people happy.

I heard that too re: the recharging station. Seriously though, the very last thing I want to do during my time at Disney is to have to sit there and recharge my phone!

Yes, I care how many attractions I do in the course of a day. But if I have to fight my way through 150K people to do them, I'm out.

I like days where I get a lot done partly because of how much I get done, but equally for the lower crowd levels that usually are the precursor to such a productive day.

We went to DL in June of 2010. I did my homework and knew the ins and outs of the crowds there. I knew we should only go on days that local AP's were blocked. But try as we might, we just couldn't work out the timing and ended up going on unblocked days. But I didn't worry too much because we had done the Give a Day/Get a Day promotion and planned on using our vouchers for extra fastpasses. We got a TON of stuff done on that trip. But you know what I remember? The sea of humanity we had to fight our way through getting from one attraction to another. That piece of it is equally important to my satisfaction with a trip.

If that's the new normal, then they'll have to do it without me.

Nine attractions as in rides or including shows/parades/fireworks?
For my trip... 2 MK days... 21 attractions (rides/parade), and 5/6 M&G's (which can get time consuming)... and we would want to do some rides more than once. Maybe we're ambitious. ;)
