AP's to get 20 FP+ per quarter

In the past, my family and I have been able to ride the attractions we like entirely too many times, particuarly if we plan ahead and actually get our lazy butts out of bed at a decent time. It looks like this new fabulous system will finally rectify that for us. We will be able to use fastpass+ for 1 or maybe 2 rides that we actually want a fastpass for and then maybe a couple others that we wouldn't need one for. This is exceptional! I, like totally, cannot wait wait wait for this new system. I just know it is going to be Super Duper. Did I mention that we won't have to criss cross the parks anymore and instead we can go on attractions we don't really care to go on, or maybe sit on a bench and read a book, that would truly be exceptional. I am hoping that it will somehow limit the number of turkey Legs I can eat too, that would be Super Fabulous and definately for my own good! Oh yeah, I almost forgot:

You are absolutely right. I actually meant to type "assuming they were available."

Two things come to mind...again, just thoughts...

1) If you are only allowed to use FP+ in one park, per day, then perhaps it would disperse the resort guests out further? Or maybe they will be increasing the number of FP+'s distributed for that ride at each given time?

2) A standby line doesn't make Disney any money. I know that appears to be a theme in my post, but we know it's true. They are not spending billions (what is it, 2 bill?) of dollars to be nice. They are expecting a good ROI. So, some things my DH has read has him speculating that they might be doing away with a standby line eventually, altogether. The FP+ option of 60 day advance booking being available to resort guests (and/or rumored AP holders) could allow other guests to walk up and receive a designated time to ride (subject to availability), using the current standby line, without actually standing there.

At any rate, it's going to make for some interesting reads here on the Dis!

That's what we were thinking, too. I wasn't there and can't remember the reports of how that lineless queue worked. Wasn't it something like you were given a time to ride along with another group of people with whom you filed into the actual ride line?

The lineless queue concept is already in use at Dumbo--I think that's all there'll be for this idea for a while. I don't see FP+ implementing it across so many additional attraction queues without major modifications to each of these queues.

The RnRC "no-line" tests were of the "NextGen Queue."
It was always intended to be rolled out for the Dueling Dumbos (which is what occurred.)

Isn't that really sort of what fastpass is? At least in its orignal concept?

I found the return times for Dumbo and Barnstormer to be so soon that it was the one area where I did in fact pull a fastpass, do some shopping, then return for my ride.

There were lots of rumors, especially based on the tests done at R'n'RC.
Likely Disney looked at what worked and what they thought would be ultimately needed,
and made a determination that just what you see now in the Dumbo tent would be sufficient.

RnRc testing had more of a 'deli counter' feel to it though. You could leave and come back, and if you missed when your number was called then you lose it. I think there was like a 5 minute window? So you had to be aware of how long it would take - this would be really easy to implement for people with smart phones.

Just walk in, and pull up a game console if you want to wait for your group (and then you don't have to give up your console when the line moves). When your number is called (or if you have a FP+, just leave the console and walk up to the line area.

Pooh, Haunted Mansion, Ariel, Test Track are already all set up for this. Peter Pan will be when the bathrooms are done. Pirates has that huge open area, as does RnRc. The hardest to change over are the amazing queues that were put in before NexGen was on the drawing table: Everest, Safari, Kali, maybe Soarin (I don't know what that tall wall is made of - maybe they just need to put open 'doors' in it).

I think Soarin would be way easier then Space Mountain! There is a whole building there!!

Problem is ... how long are the lines for the "times" or "tickets" or "pagers". We've already seen some back up on that at Dumbo on some nights.

Hopefully your family will have an easy time choosing between Space and Splash or R-N-R and ToT, because it is looking like you won't be able to FP+ both in a given day.

Yeah, I don't know, obviously I'm not privy to the surveys from RnRc I know that the area was blocked off though, so if you left the area you were told that you had to be back or you would lose your place in line. The new system will freeze them in the immediate vicinity of a revenue venue.
