AP's to get 20 FP+ per quarter

I totally agree with Robo. Leave the FP system alone.

This reminds me of a bumper sticker I have: "US Gov Policy, If it ain't broke, fix it till it is".

I am an AP holder from Texas that intends to get 3 10+ day trips out of my AP, staying at a Deluxe resort for each trip. 20 FP+ per quarter will not work for me, especially since I am a superuser. All I see from the current available info on FP+ is that I am being punished for knowing how the current system works and for being able to afford multiple long trips. My DD (2yrs old) and I do the multiple visits, so I have an AP and DD will have an AP after she turns 3, but we travel with non-AP holders for our trips. How do we work out FP+ usage then.

And I guarantee that all hell will break loose if TSMM FP+ are not available for me to sign up for on my choice of days to visit DHS.

I hope the final system does not end up being as complicated and as restrictive as it currently sounds, or I will have to reconsider my multiple Disney trips and AP.

We planned all year to spend a few days of our recent trip with friends in the Magic Kingdom. This does not happen easily since we are from the midwest and only go once a year. The friends average every other year.

At the last minute, after all of our planning, they were invited to participate in FP+ and we were not. It ruined one of those days for us.

so, im going to jump in and ask a question that maybe someone can answer for me? Im going next september, so presumably this will all be going down then. I have my ap-i have to renew it in order to continue to use my TIW card, that i bought last september. My husband is not renewing his AP, since we are only doing one trip this year; so i bought him a 10 day park hopper pass through AAA. We will be staying onsite (POFQ already booked!) so what happens to us since we are on different ticket types? will we be able to book fp together?! or do i have to send him on space mountain on his own?! :rotfl: not so funny i guess, it all seems strange and so confusing, and having to plan when i went to get to a park to get on a certain ride isnt exactly my idea of a fun trip, but what disney tells us to do, we will do i guess..

I have an AP and usually stay for 10+ days at a WDW resort and also park hop most days. This new FP+ system does not sound like it will work for me. I do not plan my days ahead of time and usually will decide when I am at the park what ride I want to get a FP for. I do not want to plan every part of my day (between ADRs and FP+).

Like SueEllen I'm a local- only we buy the FL Resident seasonal tickets. We do go every week that we have had our tickets, so that also blows your 13 times a year statistic which you still have not linked to.

We rarely do FP except in HS because I won't wait in a line longer than 10 minutes. That's why we have seasonal passes, so we don't have to. Now that Disney is screwing with all the good things that make it an enjoyable place for us, I'm glad my passes are expiring soon. SeaWorld here we come!
Maybe even Universal as well!

:faint:

Please don't make any rash decisions until they get all the fixes fixed.

To Robo and Supporters of, "It ain't broke."

Maybe FP is not broke, but it does not work for everyone.

It borders on the absurd that FP for a single attraction can 'sellout' at a considerable time before Park closing. FP+ gives my family a chance of getting as much of other choices at Disney before the early birds catch them all. Being able to plan a 10pm roller coaster ride with my wife on the one 'date night' we might be getting is a good thing for many guests with DisBoard quality information. I'm happy to give up volume of FP for the ability to get those few that I really want via FP+.

Offering an insider view of fireworks via FP+ is a way of giving insiders something more.

It appears to me that you can either plan ahead with FP+ limitations or you can maintain the status quo by using the original and remaining FP system. I cannot see how the original system is going to be broken by addition of FP+.

The OP seems to be that we may not use both simultaneously and be limited in scope to 20 FP+ per quarter. This seems like too few, but we'll let the rubber hit the road when Disney makes complete announcements.

Don't make me whip out the algebra again! ;) :goodvibes

We also have both of these and love them all. :) SeaWorld is not to be missed at this time of year. I say go for it!

The point of this being you can't use both ... one OR the other and eventually ONLY FP+.

We were never early arrivers either. When on vacation our general arrival time was 11:00 and the only thing we could rarely get FP's for was TSM. It wasn't worth that much to me to get there early... sounds like the same is true for others.

Universal ? Sea World ? You are not comparing apples to apples here. If you want to go to those Disney wannabees then go, please go :rotfl2:

I very much enjoy hearing everyone's take on it, and will be respectful of other views. :thumbsup2

The aspect I find most troubling is the elimination of park hopping combined with FP. I could live with the limit per day -- it's the "choose one park" that I'm having trouble not hating.

Disney wants you to continue buying the hopper option. They apparently just don't want you to exercise it.

For everyone that thinks FP+ is great because you don't want to have to get to the park early and some FPs sellout by the time you get there, will you get up at 6AM, 7AM, 60 days before your trip so you can get the FP+ before the FP+'s sellout for your chosen dates? The only park I ever try to get early to is DHS so I can get 2 rides on TSMM, and I still don't make it for rope drop. Remembering 60 days ahead of time to book a slot is going to be much harder for me.
I don't enjoy a very scheduled trip and currently I have 4 ADRs for my Feb 10- day trip (and none of them were booked 180 days out to the second that option was available) and I'm considering cancelling 2 of them because the 4 scheduled times seem too constricting. Now I won't have any flexibility in which park I go to which day. I usually have a plan for which park is best based on crowd calendars, but sometimes something comes up and I have to swap park days.

The people that have gotten to test FP+, did they use regular FP on the day they used FP+, and if so, was that taken into account by Disney when the testers told Disney how much they loved FP+. I see people mention they were able to change their FP+ rides/times while at Disney, but will it still be so easy when you add thousands of more people into the system. There is a big difference in a 1000 people using a sytem to test out something, and then the system opening up to everyone that stays on property, or even worse, opening up to all visitors on a given day.

We were not part of the test, but our friends were. They did get to use their regular FPs in addition to FP+. So I can't imagine why anyone wouldn't love it. It was just icing on the cake.

I do think everyone here thinks they will now be able to ride TSMM without hassle. My jury is still out on that. Remember. Capacity is a constant. They can dress it up and put a lot of bows on it......... but capacity is what it is.
