AP's to get 20 FP+ per quarter

I'm looking forward to this. But I wonder why DVC members (like me) would need a separate site for managing FP+? Wouldn't my Disney Experience Website work for all? Surely the DVC site (if it is involved in FP+) would synch to the same app. That is a fairly big assumption getting two major web sites pulling this off.

Yes but with Disney's wonderful track record with their websites that work to perfection and.... oh wait... :lmao: Anything that involves the word "Disney" and "website" fills me with concern. :thumbsup2

:rolleyes1:rolleyes1:rolleyes1:rolleyes1:rolleyes1:rolleyes1:rolleyes1

I guess you didn't read my post properly. :lmao:

I'm unsure what exactly a discussion board is for, if it's not for people to discuss things? :confused3

Anyway, moving back to the topic at hand before this thread gets closed down... to sum up the entire thread:

We basically know nothing about FP+ and now it will work for AP Holders

:lmao: We've learned so much in 1262 posts.....

:rotfl:

We do know some things about AP pass holders:

"Our Annual Passholders are very important to us and we're taking extra care to provide access to all the features and benefits of MyMagic+" - Tom Staggs, Chairman of the parks.

There, that should help.

:thumbsup2 Good question and one I'd love to know as well. I would hope that by staying on property, we would get more FP's but I have a feeling that isn't how it would work. Again though, I have no idea. I would like to think there is an incentive for staying on property.

I was kinda unclear.

What I mean is that with the rumour of 20 FP per quarter thing.

Let me give an example using my next trip of 17 nights. If I was to get a 10 day pass, I assume I would get 4 FP for each day of that pass, so 40 in total.

Now if I book the same reservation but with my AP, am I going to be limited to the 20 or am I going to get 4 fp for each day of my trip because im paying 300+ a night for a room?

In my case there is even more doubt because Im using DVC.

Again, it will be interesting thats for sure.

Yep, but it just didn't go the way disney would have liked. "Most" people used that saved time to ride other rides and not spend money.

I think FP+ will be closer to what disney intended to happen. At least they think there going to make money off of the program this time around.

I know there are no details yet, but I also believe there will be a larger incentive to stay on property.

Its a very interesting time around the World thats for sure.

This is definitely a combination of the old ticket booklets and current (dying) FP system. With one exception, right now there isn't a way to purchase extra FP+ for all that extra availability on the Day of! In 1977 it was .90 for an e-ticket. In 2013 it could be $3.00 for an additional FP+. And my son was talking again today, how he hopes that is how it shakes down. He knows I will buy them for him. I'm an enabler.

I agree. I suspect that the DVC makeover is just to give it the same feel as the mymagic site

I know im the only one but I like the new site.

Yes, it has its issues, but it all works perfectly for me. I have added my hotel reservation and all my dining reservations with no problems.

I think it will add the entire "experience" tab so that you can access your itinerary right from dvcmember.com.

This leads me to believe that DVC stays will have full access to FP+ for each night of your stay.

Let's cast no doubt on the DVC! :) As a selling perk, DVC has to be treated well in all this. :goodvibes

You've got it!! :rotfl:

I know this: since I am AP + DVC + always stay onsite, I should get a gazillion FP+ to use annually. Give or take a few. Right?! ::yes::

No. That means you should just a card that gives out immediate front of the line access. :) no lines! You shoudnt even have to wait in the FP line with that devotion!

One really does wonder what right someone who has a trip in 9 months and a known 60-day-prior reservation period has to go on about their trip possibly being "ruined" by a system that isn't formally launched yet.

How bout those of us who have a trip in60 days and having no information on how this will affect our trip, as FP+ of some form is almost guaranteed to be in effect by that time?

We are 60 days out right now. We'll be staying at SoG...so how do we fit in to MyMagic+? Disney considers us resort guests for extra magic hours, but not for KTTW cards...so I would think not for MagicBands either - except for the fact that non-resort guests will still have access to FP+ and everything too. I'd like to know the how so I can get my family prepared.

Do I think it will "ruin" my trip? No. But I am concerned about it potentially having some more frustrating points for my family (who hasn't been ot WDW since 1995). I'd like to have the time to learn about the system so that I can minimize any potential frustration as best I can.

ETA: As this is also our first trip with a child (a then 8 month old), I'd also like to know how FP+ will affect baby swap if at all.

For some reason, I can't quote posts now...but a new DVC site is probably to help integrate more with My Disney Experience, not to create a separate site for management.

I still can't link my DVC Reservations with MDE...apparently, the MDE site does not believe people should ever have apostrophes in their name (if you enter one, it says it is an illegal character). I have to call the technical support number at some point and discuss it with them, and then likely call Member Services and have the apostrophes removed from my account - and who knows what can of worms that might open...

The package date may change, but you have a reservation. Cancel it at 45 days and the FP+ cancels too.

The FP+ is directly linked to a ticket, and a ticket is directly assigned to a human being. Break any part of that chain and it goes "poof."

So i will still be able to have the same 60 day reservation time? Thanks for your input on this thread. It has helped.

no kidding! My DVC reservations have been linked successfully at least three times. But they don't register right now. BUT, when I log in to the website, my travel ticker shows up and tells me how long it is until my check in .

I think it will just send you to the main WDW website through a link. When I tried to book ADRs from there, it just went to the main site, and I still had to call to get the 180 +10.
