AP's to get 20 FP+ per quarter

If people don't care enough to figure out how to use the current fastpass and choose to wait in stand-by lines instead, why would they care enough to figure out how to use FP+?

You can lead a horse to water, but you can't force it to drink...

I dunno. What color are the horseshoes?

I think it will be interesting to see how successful it is. I don't think most guests will be able to figure out the FP+ system, especially if it requires smartphones and advance planning. I'm imagining a lot of people picking attractions, making reservations, and then missing their reservation times.

....... which is really not a big deal with the way the tests were set up so far. If the presence of FP+ causes them to lose the old FP system at the same time.......... it's an entirely different animal. Let's hope they survery people THEN.

As the complaints roll in...

One of the "fixes" they MIGHT have up their sleeves is suddenly announcing that a FP+
can be used anytime after the earliest Return Time
on the day for which the FP was issued.

It would be a major plus to many guests, and a feature for which
Disney already has had over a decade of research.

For some reason, I think the new fixed return time rule is going to stick. Nice try though.

Back when all this was starting, I said that they HAD to enforce FP+ return times at a minimum - otherwise choosing a time becomes somewhat meaningless (can't get a late evening return time? Just pick a morning...) So it seems unlikely there will be leeway...especially since the removed the leeway from the existing FPs to get guests acclimated to the restriction.

Okay I'm completely confused.

We are going in July for 16 nights (stayed at GF and BC). We are also AP holders. If they really do start doing FP+ how many would we be able to get? If it is the 20 a quarter do you have to use all 4 in one park on one day? Do resort guests get a different allotment?

HELP!

I have a different question.

When we go this spring, my Mom and I have AP's, but everyone else in our party will have MYW tickets (including my DD11).

So how will that work as far as using Fastpasses? :confused3

I'm not sure we have enough info to answer that intelligently. And of course, we have no idea if FP+ will be implemented by then.

As Robo often says, stay tuned.

Thanks. :) I wasn't sure if there was any speculation of when the FP+ will be rolled out.

Hopefully not before our trip. ;) Then I won't have to worry about it.

I believe the OP is speculating March, as that is supposedly when the last onsite resort converts to an RFID room key system. Maybe, maybe not. We'll see.

Crap. Well, I guess I'll wait and see. :)

When calculated on a daily basis, it certainly does not. That pass is good for 365 days versus a maximum 10 days for MYW tickets.

That is the same as saying that buying a car is cheaper than renting one for 10 days. Sure divide the cost by 365 and the per day cost is lower than per day rental for 10 days, but this is simplistic math that doesnt really apply. You are assuming everyone who buys an AP goes 365 times a year..... Now divide the cost of and AP by 10 , compare to 10 day pass per day and see. I heard the average ap holder goes 13 days a year, even using that math you are still way off.

I'm enjoying reading this thread. I hope we can keep it open ;).

The only people that know if they are using a fastpass late are the CM's and those holding the fastpass.

There is no connection between the two.

You are correct. However, there are many on the DIS who would swear to knowing that all the people in the fastpass line were late users and it ruined their trip! (Trying to be funny, in case it's not clear)

Yep!

Ok -- I've been on these boards for a while now -- I do remember a very precious few complaints about 'late FP' users when that was still allowed and I also remember a note from a poster who's brother in law was a VP at Disney and quoted directly from the VP : "At this time late FP's are accepted until further notice" -- why anyone argued beyond that is beyond me.

That has of course changed.. and again ... it's perfectly clear. Disney's house, Disney's rules. Why anyone is arguing about it today -- is also pointless.
