It's not even in the fine print in the email or on the webpage. It's very likely still blue-card members only. Disney typically doesn't specify blue card vs. non in press releases like these that aren't aimed at DVC members. Heck, they usually don't in official DVC communications either... usually it's buried in the fine print
Right.. and I wouldn't expect it to be.. because that's not a DVC website nor is it a DVC communication. You'll have to wait and see from DVC themselves... but I wouldn't expect anyone to get a discounted AP as a non-blue card member. It's the only significant perk they have to incentivize direct sales these days. It's not even in the fine print in the email or on the webpage.
I was looking for this info too! (Same here- not a blue card member)I very much want to know this too. I have a 10 day trip in late September and if I can upgrade to a DVC AP even though I'm not a Blue Card member I will absolutely do that.
Wondering as well— we have gold AP vouchers which we intend on activating in October.I renewed my Gold pass in April. I wonder if I will be able to use the free Photopass for my November trip or if they will make me pay now.![]()
I know this news just hit but…we have current gold AP vouchers that we intend on activating 10/2021 when we go. Will we be “forced” to upgrade those or can we use them? In the future we’ll buy the pass for DVC members but we already have the gold vouchers AND they include photo pass without a 99$ upcharge.
I renewed my Gold pass in April. I wonder if I will be able to use the free Photopass for my November trip or if they will make me pay now.![]()
I wouldn't get my hopes up if I were you ( and I kind of am you.. fellow white card member). Wouldn't make much sense for DVC to expand this perk to white card members.I was looking for this info too! (Same here- not a blue card member)
thanks!!!
and if you do the PhotoPass for $99/year, and I only attach that to my band, then that means I need to be one the scanning my magic band bc if my DH does the scanning then the pictures won't show up on our account, right??
It says that existing passes keep their current benefits and rules.I renewed my Gold pass in April. I wonder if I will be able to use the free Photopass for my November trip or if they will make me pay now.![]()
This gets tricky. In the past, I've seen renewals upgraded to the next level when they changed the terms/types of annual passes. But this announcment specifically says that you can renew to the existing/current pass before September 8th if your in you're in your renewal window. That seems to indicate that activating a renewal after the 8th would still be considered the current version with all the current perks. But a brand new (not a renewal) voucher? That's going to be an edge case, so ... good luck.Wondering as well— we have gold AP vouchers which we intend on activating in October.
There was no difference for age previously either. So an AP for an adult now costs the same as an AP for a 3 year old or am I missing something?
It’s been like that for a decade or so. Disney got tired of some families just buying a child AP for hotel and parking discounts. So an AP for an adult now costs the same as an AP for a 3 year old or am I missing something?
Good catch, looks like 3 to 100 is the same priceSo an AP for an adult now costs the same as an AP for a 3 year old or am I missing something?
