APs are coming

From what I read, it looks like all DVC members can purchase the $899 pass. Does that reading sound correct?
I very much want to know this too. I have a 10 day trip in late September and if I can upgrade to a DVC AP even though I'm not a Blue Card member I will absolutely do that.

I assume they would have had to clarify that on the website. We are not blue card members so that is why I noticed that

It's very likely still blue-card members only. Disney typically doesn't specify blue card vs. non in press releases like these that aren't aimed at DVC members. Heck, they usually don't in official DVC communications either... usually it's buried in the fine print

They have never advertised it as such on the Disney side but there terms have been part of membership extras.

I am sure we will get the update today on the DVC website

Can someone pls post the blackout dates? When I click the link it just takes me to the same page on another tab..but maybe Im missing something?

:confused3

and I wonder since we have Gold APs now, and we go to renew, do we get a renewal discount??
It downloads a PDF instead of opening a page. You probably have a few of them now. :)

So DVC will still get a discounted pass which is good. Not so good is the price increase but I figured it was coming.

But with Easter not being blacked out..it helps us as a family…if I am reading that correctly
That’s interesting. They added a lot of small blackouts to the lesser (formerly silver) pass, but removed Easter from the gold level.
Although from the DVC side, Easter demand seemed low, so this may help.

I know this news just hit but…we have current gold AP vouchers that we intend on activating 10/2021 when we go. Will we be “forced” to upgrade those or can we use them? In the future we’ll buy the pass for DVC members but we already have the gold vouchers AND they include photo pass without a 99$ upcharge.

We've only bought AP's once, and only for 2 of our party, but man this is a big increase in just the 4 years I've been a DVC member. 900 bucks plus another 100 for one person to get photopass. Our 9 day tickets for our next trip are about 640 bucks.

thanks!!!

and if you do the PhotoPass for $99/year, and I only attach that to my band, then that means I need to be one the scanning my magic band bc if my DH does the scanning then the pictures won't show up on our account, right??
I guess it depends if it’s like before. The photopass could be used by any linked friends and family member, but only the person with photopass access could download unlocked photos.

hmmmm...interesting...I guess we need a little more information before getting an answer but awesome point!!

thanks!

I just priced out for my potential 2 trips in the next year.... the annual pass will cost $160 more than tickets for those trips. Now we do get a 20% discount on food and merch... so adding that in, it is worth it. But not much savings to be honest, especially without photopass included.

I'm not certain, but I imagine they will honor the pass that you paid for. There are still plenty of Gold passes still left out there. And once that pass expires, you'll likely have to migrate to the new DVC pass. Maybe they'll give you the renewal price if they're nice
