Ap's. Anyone do the math on letting them expire?

We used to get a new AP every other year. For example
November 2011 Purchase AP and spend a week
October 2012 take a trip on current pass
November 2013 Purchase AP and spend a week
October 2014 Take a trip on current pass.

Then my husband had to go and get himself an airline job.

Purchase AP in Nov 2016 make a trip Dec 2014, Jan 2015, Feb 2015, March 2015... you get the picture.

We still go by the take a break and buy new rule even though I get what Orsino is saying.

This is what we do too minus the airline job. Sometimes the new AP is more like 14 - 16 months after the last trip on the prior AP.
