Hi Dis'ers :wave2:
I've been to WDW 10 times but this will only be my second trip to DL! (And last time was just for 1 day) We are going to spend two weekdays in mid April. What should we expect in terms of crowds? We are going to stay off property so should we visit the park that doesn't have extra magic hours?
Also, I would love suggestions for things not to miss with a 10 month old and especially tips for doing Disney with a little one. This is my first trip to either park as a mommy :goodvibes

I would definitely suggest going to the park that isn't hosting Magic Morning to start. Do you have Park Hopper tickets?

You may notice some crowds from Spring Breaks taking place, and from some of the big people absorbing attractions like the Mark Twain and the Railroad being closed for preparation for Star Wars Land.

I expect it to feel a bit more crowded all year simply because no one is on the boats, island, or train so they're all navigating the pathways with you.

I bet you'll have so much fun!! And a 10 month old isn't going to be pushing you to immediately ride that next awesome thing he saw! So you can relax and choose what to enjoy.

I admit, I have not been, but the Disney Jr. Show in DCA has characters like Mickey and friends, Doc McStuffins, and some other younger kids Disney programming stars. While I don't know what it's all about, that place is always packed with strollers!! I assume kids love it!

There is a really fun Carousel down by Paradise Pier with different sea animals, they are all brightly colored and beautiful. The Little Mermaid ride is always cool and relaxing, and when it's slow, which is usually, the CM'S will let you ride over and over without getting out! Also on the Pier is the big Ferris wheel, with the option of swinging or stable gondolas! For his age, maybe the stable ones, haha! The swinging ones are really fun, too, but it have inspired the nickname Mickey's Fun Wheel Of Death!!

In DL, I bet he'd love exploring Tarzan's Tree House, which is a good place to roam free, climb stairs, check out fun stuff, and enjoy a bit of self guided play now that the Pirate / Tom Sawyers island area is down.

Small World and Pirates are fun, long, cool boat rides that I always use when I need a break. The ToonTown area has a few places to run around, like Donalds boat and Chip and Dale's treehouse, plus characters are always hanging out for pictures around the cute scenery. There are also some fun effects that you can trigger by pushing buttons and such all over ToonTown!

One other thing to mention is that the first time I went to DL, I spent far too long wandering around trying to find a counter service place for lunch! I would highly suggest looking over menus online and picking a place in each area that sounds good to save yourself the search in the parks. There are many good options, but they're sort of scattered around. Lots of places sell a Kids Pack of snacks that includes a lot of good finger food for young ones.

Have fun planning and be sure to return if you have any other questions! We love to help!
