We just booked our trip for the first week of April and am now hearing that it rains practically everyday that time of year.... should we switch???? We're only going for 3 1/2 days and I couldn't stand to pay all this $$ and never be able to sit by the pool, etc. We'll still do the parks and everything, and I know the weather is unpredictable in FL anyway, but has anyone gone this time of year and had GOOD weather??? (*fingers crossed*)

Thanks!!!

Don't be too worried. Yes, you can get a thunderstorm or two each day but at that time of year even those happen most often between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m. It is possible to get a day with constant rain then but the usual day is sunny and very warm (mid-80's and often into the low 90's). You should be aware that the prediction of daily showers and thunderstorms at WDW is something that exists 9 to 10 months of the year there.

I would not switch! That information is not accurate! Maybe that person happend to experience rainy weather during April when they went but actually, historically, April has the least amount of rainfall of any month in Orlando. Now, do keep in mind that Florida weather is very unpredictable all 12 months of the year. But again, April has some of the least amount of rainfall.

We were there last year from April 6th thru the 16th and it rained one day for about 1 1/2 about 3:00pm and then sprinkled one day for about 3 hours but not enough to barely get wet. It was hot everyday 85-95!!! We were even hot and we are from Wisconsin, bit too hot for us!
Hope you enjoy your trip.

I agree, April is usually the "dryest" month. We LOVE April. I don't think you will regret it!

I had read that April was one of the driest too. We went in late April last year. It was HOT, HOT, HOT and sunny, sunny, sunny. We had rain on one evening out of 8.

According to Weatherbase.com, the lightest precip months in Orlando are:

November 1.7
December 2.1
January 2.1
April 2.6

Heaviest are:

July 8.1
August 7.2

April is tied with Nov, Dec and Jan for fewest rainy days (6)

I feel much, much better about it! You guys are the best! Either way, a rainy day in Orlando is still better than a rainy (cold) day in PA, right? ;-)

Thanks again!!!

When we were there last week, it rained every day. We thought it would bother us, but we just went on and rode the rides and had a blast, after all, we're not gonna melt. We didn't even bother putting on our ponchos.. lol. Besides that, it keeps the locals away from the parks if it's raining!!!!!

We were there from April 5th-13th last year. We had 1 day with rain. At that it only rained for 2 hours. It was in the upper 80's everyday. It reached 90 twice. It was really sunny everyday.

We go the 1st week of April nearly every year. The weather is usually great. Mid 80's,little rain, blue skies. We have also been recently in June and December-April was by far the best weather.

Usually it does not rain everyday in APril as someone told you. The rainy season really doesnt get going to May/June. Even then it only rains in the afternoon and then clears up again. This year has been a wierd year with El-Nino. It has rained much more than normal during the dry season which is winter.

Actually, April has the least amount of rainfall of any time of the year. April showers in not really a norm in Central Florida... it is in their dry season. However, with El Nino, you never can tell. We have been to WDW when it rained everyday, and we saw and did everything. Just take you umbrella and resign yourself to having wet shoes!
