We went to WDW in early October last year, just before the Columbus holiday. First part of the week we had little to no wait times. By the end of the week, it was packed. DH has no interest in going if it's going to miserably hot and/or the crowds will be heavy. Can anyone shed light on the possibility of light crowds the last week of April?

Thanks!!!!!

We went to WDW end of April/beginning of May this year, and had very few problems with crowds. Just the popular rides, and you can do those early.

Just don't go Easter week if you want to avoid crowds. April can
be a little busy depending on spring break too. May is a GREAT time to go, although it can be hot, but, hey, why do you go to Florida for, the snow???

We went over spring break, and it was AWFUL! You couldn't move without having to say excuse me to someone. We did manage to see just about everything we wanted to though thanks to good planning. If you don't like crowds, don't go during spring break!

My sister and her family went during the last week of April a few years ago and found it to be a great time to go. Light crowds and good weather. It's past Easter and most spring breaks are done by then.

We are leaving on April 17-Which is when there peak season ends, so I think crowd wise we'll be fine. I'm just hoping some of the new attractions will be open by then.

Just want to say that this is the week also when we are going to the world, this week, the last week of april also happens to be the spring break week 2005 for a lot of metro ny schools, so you might want to be prepared. For 2004 easter coincided with our spring break, it was doable. We made all our ps before we left home, I had a plan for each day etc. The ds didnt want to do ee, and they thought it was pretty funny that their were actual lines for fast passes, something we didnt ever see on our usual august trips. The weather in april is so nice and we didnt have to deal with the august rain, heat and humidity, The busses are pretty crowded and lots of times it was standing room only. Guess you will have to be prepared and all should be well. Have a great trip.

We went April 23-May 1 this year. The crowds weren't too bad. Fast Pass and good planning were a help. There were a lot of high school kids around on the weekends for Grad Nights.

I teach in RI and my husband is in MA-- We both have spring break April 18-22 this year. From what I've read on these boards, it seems that CT and VT have the same week, as well as some of upstate NY. Metro NY and NJ seem to have the last week of April. I am hoping that splitting the April spring break weeks will help with the crowds. We were there last Feb with what seemed like the entire Northeast. Here's hoping April is a little more spread out!

We have our trip planned for 4/22 thru 4/30. I am hoping most spring breaks are finished. But we are sooo excited anyways. It will be our DS's first trip to Disney(4 years old). They say that "Small World" attraction will reopen Spring 2005. Do you think it will be open by April?

I'm from NH and our April break week is April 25-29. I've heard from friends who have ventured down during April break that it's very crowded, but I'm not sure if our NH week is at the same time as other school breaks for 2005. We were down there during April break this year, but we went on the cruise so we didn't get the park crowds. We returned a day later (the first Monday back at school) and the flight was overbooked - they were begging people to give up seats and offering good deals to do so. I think April is a very popular time for Northeasterns to go - this year we're going the first week in March instead (another break period), hoping to avoid some of the crowds.

Western NY - Spring Break April 18-22 also - We are heading down, braving what crowds may be. I'm hoping, as roadtripper said, the splitting of breaks might help.
We've been enough times & will go many more, that if we can't do it all, we won't sweat it too much. I will be sure to plan my PS 90 days out & hit EE & use FP's. We were planning on doing at least part of the trip at a slower pace -
