Hi, Team!!! Keep those miles and minutes coming!! :cheer2:

I had an ok week... Need to be running more in prep for some upcoming races.

Swim: 1.4 miles/1:00
Bike: 42.3 miles/2:50 (slacked on not doing a long ride this week)
Run: 8.0 miles/1:30
PT/Core: :35

Total 51.7 miles/5:55 hours.

Trying to get focused for the next couple of weeks before I race again on May 3. :goodvibes

Spreadsheet is updated as to what I have for now. A little sad to see that a few team members have either dropped out of the fun or just not posted for a couple of months. But we're all doing great! Any moving and being active is GOOD!!!
Will fix the spreadsheet to add in a cumulative total for April, in addition to the overall cumulative total later on today.

April 15-21

miles: 25.52
hours: 4.35

My miles include a 10K race on Sunday. My report is on the report thread, but I met my main goal which was to finish under an hour. My finish time was 59:21 which is my new 10K PR. :cheer2:

Team Everyone is doing such a wonderful job! I know I sound like a broken record but I am in complete awe of this team. I really have this sense of family among all of you. There is so much going on but yet, we make time for each other. To help support and to encourage each other. :worship::worship: I don't know if it affects anyone else but it does me. Just can't thank you all enough for giving me the energy and strength to continue each day no matter what.

Rich "Footsteps Falco? From Ohio State?" That's it. Way to go! Plus, I have to keep sending you congratulations on all the miles and time that you are able to focus on your training. How do you do it every single week? It amazes me.

Lisa (Blizzard) Great job on the PR. Remind me not to challange you to a race as I am not quite that fast yet. I have been keeping my times between 5-5.5 miles an hour. Haven't reached the 6 mile marker yet. Keep running!!

All Team Members You are all doing great. I will try to get back and "single" everyone out in retrospect. Vic This weekend is Talladega!! Let's go racin' boys!!!

As For Me Well, this week has been busy but I was able to do better than last week. I still have a ways to go to get to where I want to be which is good. That also is my motivation to continue going on as much as I do. I just wish I could do more. More lifting. More running. Better diet. All of it. I have a goal and I guess until that is obtained, my motivation will not end. Which is all fine by me. So here is my time for last week.

Miles - 75.5 (Send 15 to Liz please)
Time - 16.25 hours

I spent more time lifting last week than I have been.

I hope everyone is finally out of the "winter blues" and is able to enjoy some sensational Spring weather!! Be safe! Be active! But most of all, let's all be healthy!

Have a great week everyone!

Spreadsheet is updated, and cumulative totals for April, and for the year are up.
We have moved almost 1000 hours so far! yippee!!

There are a few holes in the spreadsheet....we've lost some team members, I suppose. :sad1: I hope those that are still posting will continue to do so! Remember, it's not a competition...it's supposed to be inspiring!

Anyone with cool plans over the weekend? I'm travelling, so just cramming in the workouts as I can.

Blizzard, congrats on the PR!! :cool1:

Jenn...I think I forgot to mention the other day that your relay sounded very cool! Good job! Hope the knee hasn't given you any more trouble.

I had a great run yesterday, but need to seriously work on endurance and building up some endurance before a 1/2 Ironman in June, and then continue to get ready for Goofy.

Hi 3D's! Today I did my first race of the season, the Schiff Scout Duathlon (2 mile run, 10 mile mtb, 2 mile run). My time was a little slower than last year, I did it in 1:38, but I did win my age group. It was a very hot day for this time of year, maybe that contributed to the slowness. I also realized that when racing on singletrack trails, be it running or biking, there are times when you get behind someone and it is difficult to pass. You begin to just follow and get complacent. Until you snap out of it and remember that it is a race!

So, when is the reporting this month? Tuesday the 28th or Thursday the 30th?

Have a great week!

:stitch: 'Ohana Monday Mixer :stitch:

I've been thinking about how to create a hot topic for this week's mixer question. Turns out, the weather cooperated with me. :lmao:

Many areas of the country experienced above average temperatures this weekend, which made many of our weekend distances uncomfortable. (I was thinking especially of how the weather affected the racers at CMM, particularly our very special WISHers). So this week's mixer topic, which starts here on the 'Ohana thread:

What are your training/racing/recovery tips and strategies for hot-weather conditions?

Feel free to tell us how you alter your routines: when you go out, what gear you use or what you wear, how you hydrate and fuel differently, how to recognize danger signs, how you keep cool and/or recover from overheating, and when you decide to shorten/quit/take it inside.

As we all know, going out in the heat can be dangerous, so please help all of us by sharing your knowledge. :thumbsup2

Thanks ironz! I actually ran 4.5 miles the other day and had NOOOO pain! I'm trying to find the best combo of stretching warming up and I think it might have worked. If it's not too hot today I'll try running again.

wow, congrats on winning your age group ahoff! maybe one day i'll venture over to the dual/trialthalons.

Glad to hear it, Jenn!! So much more fun to run if you're not hurting! :goodvibes

Augie...congrats!! That totally rocks! :thumbsup2

Everyone....the month is over tomorrow....that means be ready to post your totals for the April 22-30! I'm at a fairly busy work location this week, but will try to stay on top of the posts and the spreadsheet as people post this week. We're doing really well, I think....even though it seems the number of teammates posting has decreased by a few.

Remember, it's not a contest...just getting out there and moving is what makes us successful!!

Also...if anyone needs anything cleaned up on the spreadsheet, or wants a color bar for their name line, or anything, let me know and I'll try to make it as good as I can for as many people as I can. (but I don't think posting Ryley's miles to other people's lines is going to be an option :rotfl:)

Cheers!

Cheers!

If it's OK with you I would like to report my totals through Thursday the 30th and not Wednesday the 30th! Is that OK? I really need all the mileage I can get!!!

See?! I knew work had me distracted (and wishing time were passing faster)...so ready for the weekend!

Looking forward to hearing how everyone's week/10 days went!! I have a triathlon this weekend, so I'm definitely looking forward to that. :goodvibes

My Fellow Ducks!! I am afraid that I am the one that has really been MIA recently. There has been a lot of stuff going on with work, home and training. I know we all have these issues so I am not going to suggest for a moment that mine has been different than anyone elses. I have just been battling with mine a little harder than I would like. It has made it really hard, especially for the last few days, for me to get on the computer much. I have still been getting in a lot of training. Not as much as I would like but a lot. Here are my totals:

Miles: 110
Hours: 15

I did have an interesting thing happen to me on Sunday where I had a flat tire at the gym. While changing the tire, the car rolled on me. It really wasn't a fun day at all with that happening but it happens. Oh well.

Everyone has been doing such an incredible job. I am going to do everything I can to do better in the month of May. I feel like i have dropped the ball here and I don't like that. I love this team and everything that you all have done for me. Your efforts make me stronger. They make me push harder when I really don't feel like another rep or another minute. I thank you all for your wonderful amounts of effort and energy each and every week. I know that May is going to be fantastic!

Hope everyone has a fabulous weekend!!

Yikes!:scared1:Hope you're okay.

My totals ending today:
465 minutes 16.8 miles

Good Morning Ducks, and Happy May! Time to report the miles. A few extra days plus a race gives me a total of 223 miles, and the time was 13 hours and 8 minutes. Please send 25 miles over to Liz!

This Sunday is the Five Borough Bike Ride, this will be the 15th time i will be doing it, I think. Covering all of the five boroughs of NYC, it is a pretty neat ride, not too long, only 45 miles. I hope the weather will take a turn for the better....

Have a great weekend, everyone!

Good morning,

My totals for Apr 22-30 are
16 miles
240 minutes

Hope you're all doing well

Great work everyone!! We have collectively gone over 7000 miles since February 1!! That is a long way!

Spreadsheet is updated up through this post.

For me--more running (relative to biking) this past week due to travel, and the swim times are coming up, which is all cool. :goodvibes Also did my longest run since the Ironman last year and it felt pretty good! Up to 9.4 miles...that gives me a lot of confidence for my 1/2 Ironman in June, as well as for the build in the fall towards Goofy. :thumbsup2

Swim: 2.4 miles/1:45
Bike: 36.5 miles/2:30
Run: 23.1 miles/4:30
Walk: 0.3 miles/:10
Core/PT/Stretch: :30

Total: 62.3 miles/9:15 hours
