Hi, gang!!

Looks like people are still moving and having a good time! Congrats on the races, Bryan, Tracy, and Tricia!!

I've been quite bad about posting my hours....been looking for one of my pages of training where I write things and couldn't find it, so I have procrastinated enough, and finally have re-created it (to the best of my memory).

I have some good miles to add in, since I am posting 3 weeks' worth, and there are 2 races in there!

March 22-31:
swim 2.0 miles/ 1:40
bike 71.3 miles/ 5:10
run 10.6 miles/ 2:25
Duathlon (run/bike/run): 5/16/1.5 (22.5 x 2 = 45 miles)/ 2:30

Good total: 128.9 miles/ 11:45 :goodvibes

April 1-7:
swim 1.5 miles/ 1:35
bike 18.7 miles/ 1:20
Triathlon (swim/bike/run): .3/12.5/3.2 (16 x 2 = 32 miles)/ 1:30
wts :45

Total: 52.2 miles/ 5:10

April 8-14:
swim 1.2 miles/ 1:30
bike 61.7 miles/ 4:55
brick workout: 5.4 miles bike + 3.3 miles run/ 1:25
run 4.0 miles/ :55
PT :25

Total: 75.6 miles/ 9:10

Will update the spreadsheet tomorrow....need my beauty rest!! (I mean, my rest, so I can go train tomorrow!)

Betsy I think it may be time for you to get the "belt" out and beat me with it. I have been lagging a lot myself. I guess I have been using the fact that I don't have another race planned for almost 4 months tell me I could get lazy. Time to jump start and get back at it though and I will be back in the gym tonight after work doing just that. Congratulations on all that you have been able to do for the last several weeks!!! Seems like you are recovering nicely. I am so proud of you!

Lisa It's good to hear from you too! Your 14 miles is actually more than what I was able to get done last week. Mine will be just a little higher though because of the double miles. Great job!

Jenn You are missed around here! But hey, we all have the trials of everyday life so it happens. Just drop by whenever you can and say Hey! You're doing fantastic!!

Augie Those are some impressive numbers. Maybe when I grow up, I can aspire to be like you, Rich and Betsy! (What am I saying? I am never going to grow up!)

Sharon Your doing awesome!! Such a steady performer every week. You will never know how much you inspire me. Thank you!

Ronda My RR was inspiring? Really? To me, it was painful:laughing:! But if I can help inspire you at all, that's ok. That's what I like to do! Thanks for everything!

My Update My update and miles are down as all I did was the half. The rest of the week was tapering, working and doing my taxes. This week will be better though. It won't take much for it to be better.:confused3

Miles - 26.2 (That's doubled for the race.)
Hours - 3.5 (The race didn't take that long but there was a lot of time stretching before and after.)

Thanks everyone! Now, we have made it past Tax Season. Let's get out there and run, ride or swim! Let's have some fun with it!!!

Sorry Ducks I am just now posting my milage for April 1-7 but I guess that is better then my former record of only reporting once a month.

April 1-7
total running/walking miles - 8.5 miles
total minutes - 140 mins or 2 hours 20 mins

Sorry can't post my milage for April 8-14 yet since I don't have my training calender with me here at work. I will try and post it soon - especially since I get to count double miles for my race last Saturday (too bad I have been slacking since then and gotten nothing in) but I am thinking of training for a Triathlon in Sept. So any suggestions from those who have done Tri's before will be helpful

Bryan, I just want to say thank you for all your inspiring and encouraging words to all of us. You are really helping the Triple D's team spirit....and helping me personally workout on those days when I just don't feel like it.

Sharon The inspiration I send out pales in comparision to what I receive. I am motivated everyday to do more and more and more. All I have to do is think of each and everyone of you and I get a fire to put in my best workout yet. All I can say is thank you!!!!!!

Hope everyone is having an awesome week!

Apr 8-14

miles: 24.3
hours: 5.45

Have a 10K race coming up this weekend, which will hopefully give me a chance to see where I'm at for racing speed. My entire spring program is gearing up for a sub 2 hour half goal. Six weeks to go until that event.

Hi, Team...
spreadsheet is updated! We have done a lot of MOVING over the last 2-1/2 months! :thumbsup2

MrsPotts...I don't have an entry for you the 1st week of April, or did I miss it? thx

Blizzard, good luck with your 10K this weekend! have fun!

I went back to the ortho today to check on my shoulder. Had been having some new pains, since he cleared me a few weeks ago. Nothing serious, just the muscles getting used to my activity again. I had a kick-butt workout last night, though--biking and running! It felt so good!

What's everyone got going on for the weekend?

Hi all my fellow Ducks!

Yesterday I ran in the Jersey Shore Relay Marathon...A 26.2 Mile Relay Race rom Seaside Heights, NJ to Asbury Park, NJ along the scenic Atlantic Ocean held the third Saturday in April. Teams of 5, 4, 3, 2 or individuals run the marathon distance mostly on world famous boardwalks. (we had a team of 5)

We had a great time and it was SUCH a beautiful day out! It did get hot towards the end of the run so I'm secretly happy that I ran the 2nd leg and missed the 75-80 degree weather during my run.

I joined with my old gym and we actually had 9 or 12 teams registered for the race so the support we had throughout the whole day was amazing. Everywhere we turned we'd see at least a few of our race shirts wandering around. I was our team captain since I was the only one on my individual team that had run this race before. And... small world... I found out a few weeks ago that one of the ladies on my team is a disney nut and ran the last two halfs and is registered for the full this year. Can't wait to cheer her on down in Disney!

So I had originally signed up for one of the 6.1 or 6.2 mile legs and on the way down there when I was looking at the race info, I realized it was changed to 6.5 miles! I've never run more than 6 miles in one shot. Didn't have a problem with that but luckily I found out before I started running or I would have been so confused looking at my Garmin.

Overall I'm very very happy with my time and how my portion went. I finished the 6.5 mi (6.57 according to Garmin but whos counting..lol) in 1:11:43. One of my best times yet! I was worried about my knee though and it did of course start acting up. Almost right after the first mile it started hurting but I kept trying to adjust my form and make improvements and by about mile 2.5 I didn't feel any pain, just a tightness. Don't remember much pain from miles 2.5 to 6.5 so that's a good thing! However my knees are NOT liking me today. I've been icing them all night and this morning and will have another big stretch session in a little bit. I really think thats part of my problem...I don't stretch and warm up as much as I should. I do the 'normal' but I'm thinking my knees need more than that!

I believe our whole team finished the marathon in just barely over 4hrs30min and I couldn't be happier! Now I just need to find an 'official' 10k and start improving. :)

blizzard, good luck with the 10k! let us know how it goes :)

ironz.. glad to hear the shoulder is ok!

:stitch: 'Ohana Monday Mixer :stitch:

And now for a bit of silliness, just because... :teeth: The mixer starts here.

This week's mixer theme is "Superpowers That Would Be More Trouble Than They're Worth," and your question:

What would be the superpower you would end up being granted?

Some examples:
  • The ability to tell the future, but only one minute ahead of time.
  • Super-strength, but only in your thumbs.
  • The ability to read the minds of people whose language you don't understand.
  • The ability to see through one layer of clothes.
  • Super breath, strong enough to knock down your opponents. Unfortunately, it's because you're smells like garlic and you always have that power.

Of course, your superpower is unique to you. So feel free to tell us what you would do with your power or why you got so lucky as to be given it. :rolleyes1 Bonus points--again, they're worth nothing--for telling us what superpowers you think other WISHers might get. (Keep it DIS-friendly, though, folks!)

Hey team! I hope everyone is doing well. I thought I would drop by for a moment as I had a long lost movie quote. (It seems like it has been a while since anybody posted one so off we go.) I can't remember if this is one that I posted before or not so if I did, please forgive me.

I wish I could say something that was classy and inspirational but that wouldn't be out style. Pain heals. Chicks digs scars. And glory lasts forever.

Also as a reminder, tomorrow is the 21st. Let's do our best to get the miles and times into Betsy so she can update the spreadsheet. We are doing really great this year. Let's keep having fun with it!!

Thanks everyone!
Bryan:cheer2::banana::grouphug:

Nope Betsy you didn't miss anything. Just put big ole fat goose eggs in there for me.

Lisa

Good Mornibg Duckies! And it is a duck day here, nice and wet out. Since I will not be adding to my miles today, here is the weeks totals, 97 biking miles in 6 hours, and 2 miles of running in 20 minutes. Please shuffle 25 miles over to Liz's account.

Has anyone heard of NuRide? They started the program here at work, mainly for carpools, but there is a category for bike trips, so it is a handy way to keep track of the miles. And supposedly participants who find alternative ways to work a minimum of 12 days a month will get $20 gas cards. well, i will believe that when I see it.

Hope everyone has a good upcoming week! I am looking forward to Friday, the Dead are coming to town.

It's finally spring here. The sun is out, the wind is down and it is supposed to be in the mid 70's today. Later this week we're looking for the 80's. woohoo! I have literally lost count of all the ball games I have sat through this spring freezing my **** off! So today I am actually looking forward to more ball games in great weather.

My numbers for week ended 4.21.09
8 miles
98 minutes

Have a great week.

Run - 3 miles, 36 minutes
Lifted x 1 - 30 minutes
Boxing - 30 minutes

Week ending 4-21....360 minutes 14 miles walking/cross-training

Beautiful weather, so I'm trying to catch up on yard work. Between that and being out of town for work a couple of days, my miles/hours were a little lower than I like. This next week will be the same, but I'll do my best to add a few more miles.
