April, May, June AP Watch. Let's Get it Started

Magicmouse2, Crazywig is right. I have DVC too, but that just made me buy AP's and start this crazy obsessing about AP rates! You will find that in life, one can NEVER have enough "DVC points," hence code-obsessing.

I have 6 nights at the Wilderness Lodge Villas this June. Great. But am I satisfied? Nooooo... I want add-on nights before, using AP rates...

Just be aware that this Disney obsession thing is NOT easy to beat! If anything, DVC has made me WORSE! Yesterday my hubby and I had a belated Valentine lunch, and we were talking about "things other than Diney" and I said "Honey, let's talk vacation again" and his eyes just glazed over...

I'm also a DVCer wanting an AP code for May and then I will look for one for Sept. I have two nights at POP before going to BWV (May ) and then SSR is Sept so a little break on the cost would give me enough money to do another character meal.
I will stay 7 nights at DVC but can not swing the extra weekend on points.

So I'm only looking for a few good nights....
I gave up on looking for a few good men a long time ago.

Pixie Dust to everyone.....

Lori

This is the exact same predicament we found ourselves in last spring and ended up renting dvc points because we didn't wait out the codes. Not sure how much longer we'll wait this year... it's getting pretty close.

Goodness!! Don't let Mickey or Pluto or Goofy hear you say that!! Obviously all men need are a little pixie dust!! (If only that were true!) Thanks for the giggle!!

PS...Disney gurus..if u r reading this...I am sitting here in my Goofy sweatshirt over my Mickey t-shirt, in my Disney pajama bottoms, drinking from my Pluto coffee mug while my son drinks from his Pooh sippy cup while he's watching Lion King 1 1/2 as he lounges in his Pirates of the Caribbean sweatsuit...........COME ON NOW>>>>>>I'm A FAITHFUL DISNEY FANATIC>>>>DOESN'T THAT MEAN ANYTHING TO YOU!!???!!! Give me one little AP code..PULEEEEZE

That is soooooooo funny because I'm sitting here in a Mickey tshirt drinking out of a Mickey cup and my kids are watcing Lion King 1 1/2 also!!!!!!!! :earseek: :earseek: :earseek:

Hey its the Lion King 1 1/2 viewing day. We are watching it too but I'm really looking for the hidden Mickeys and so far we found three. I have heard someone found 6 so I think I will watch it again after dinner before American Idol is on.

What a way to spend a cold afternoon waiting for good news about codes coming. I can make one phone call tomorrow and that for a PS for Cape May Cafe on May 18 so thats one more thing I can cross off.

Called to change my regular $99 rack rate room for May 22nd thru May 29th to a AAA Discount Rate. CM didn't ask for AAA number or anything....which is good since I'm not yet a member of AAA.

Saved a total of over $200 on 2 rooms at PC over 7 nights....so, if no other discounts come out....it will be worth the $40+ to join AAA to get this discount.

Also....asked about AP codes and CM said nothing yet. That was at 2pm Central Time today......

Still Waiting.....

Speedyf, what is the discount rate for AAA? I am guessing about 20% off rack rate? I can join in a heartbeat if it's worth it! I made reservations at the Poly, and the deposit is due 2/25 and I think I am going to just cancel because there is no way that $344 a night is in my budget! That's a lot of pressed pennies! :)

Colleen....

It depends on where you stay and when you go. Mousesavers.com has the discounts listed as follows:

Value Season = Up to 15% off Deluxe and Home Away From Home or 20% off on Value, Moderate, or Fort Wilderness

Regular Season = Up to 10% off Deluxe and Home Away From Home or 15% off on Value, Moderate, or Fort Wilderness

Peak Season = Up to 10% off Deluxe and Home Away From Home or 15% off on Value, Moderate, or Fort Wilderness

No discounts for Holiday Season

I'm going at the end of May which would be Regular Season. My original rack room rate was $99 per night x 2 rooms = $198 per night before tax. With the AAA discount (15%), it came down to $84.15 per night x 2 rooms = $168.30 per night before tax. Savings of $29.70 per night x 7 nights = $207.90 plus the tax savings.

If you are going in regular season, the AAA rate would probably save you 10% of $344 per night which would be $34.40 per night.

Of course, it will cost me $47 to join AAA....but, it will be worth it to save $207.90 plus tax. I still think it's all moot anyway because I'm sure AP or room-only codes will come out for my dates anyway......

Just call Disney at ask them if there is a AAA rate for your room. If so, they can change your rate and your deposit amount. My deposit went down from around $220 to $187.

Good Luck......

"I wish I may....I wish I might....Have the AP codes out tonight? :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

Just wishful thinking folks.....

I think I've finally got my husband 'in the groove'....He gave me a Mickey and Minnie Valentines Day Card. He seems to think I've lost it! I tell him only in WDW!

But what he doesn't realize is that its contagious.......

Hurray for all of us Disney fans! Now come on dis cms and give us those codes!!!:hyper: :hyper: :hyper:

Hi ! 2/17/04 10:25pm
When were you on Mousesaver.com ?
I just came from there and there was a code for the Fort Wilderness resort area dates starting from 4/18 on. mu computer is old and slow like me.
Does anyone remember how soon after the release of these codes or rates do the rest happen?
ENJOY!
"THE MAGIC HAPPENS!!!

Just called. Still nothing past 4/17. Ahh, the wait continues.

MKFamilystone....

Someone had asked about AAA discounts. I had booked at regular rack rate originally ($99 per night at Pop Century). I called and asked for the AAA discount and received it ($84.15 per night at Pop Century).

It was worth it to me since we will have 2 rooms and I will now be saving around $30 per night plus tax.

Just wanted to share with everyone that they did not ask for my AAA membership info....and I'm not a AAA member yet.

As for the timing of codes.....it varies. Last year, the codes for April thru the beginning of July were not released until mid to late April. In 2001, they were released around the end of January. Basically, it could be anytime between now and the end of April.....no way to know for sure.

Waiting patiently.....
speedyf :)

I don't know anything yet....but just wanted to subscribe so I can find out when the codes come out.

We are doing the 5/13 3 night cruise and decided to stay at Disney from 5/9 - 5/13....hopefully it won't be more expensive checking in on Mother's Day! We stayed at Pop over Valentine's weekend and while it was fine I would like to try a moderate or deluxe so I am definitely looking for an AP of Florida resident rate!
