April/May 2006 Code Watch

You know what's strange is if you click book now they tell you the special offer is no longer available :confused3

What about the code thru 4/8?

Not that I'm going yet, just curious why its not working.

I believe that code expired yesterday.

Maybe that's for booking online?

I thought with the BRP gone, you could still get the AP rate if available now that the 60 day rule is gone.

So if someone tries to get an AP rate now thru 4/8 they can't?

It's been quite some time since I've been on code watch. We had AP's until last year but didn't renew because we're doing the cruise in August and hadn't planned on a WDW trip for awhile. But now we're thinking of going in April afterall (why not!). I know this is a crystal ball ? but isn't it true general codes come out last, after AP and FL resident codes. I remember about 2 or 3 years ago ALL codes came out all at once, I think that was a fluke. Wondering what your thoughts might be. I got a quote recently and because our dates are Peak Season I have a serious case of sticker shock.

I'm trying not to get too excited but they must be doing something on the passholder site. If you click book now it tells you the special offer rate is not available but if you want to check dates, it starts with the months of July & August.

Here's hoping!!!

We're DVCrs, too, and in our experience, the DVC cash villa discount has always been much better than the AP deluxe room discount. BUT, if you can get a good Swan/Dolphin rate, that would be even less expensive.

What is the "DVC cash villa discount"? We're DVC members and I'm not familiar with this. :smooth:

Call DVC MS and if available they have villa rooms at a cash discount. I recently booked 2 nights in a studio at OKW for May using this. At the time they had WLV, OKW, BWV, and BCV all available for the weekend I wanted. We are using our pts through Thursday and then are paying cash for Friday and Saturday. The ressies should be linked so we shouldn't have to move at all. I also checked the same time period for AAA rates on the studio and the DVC discount beat AAA. I am waiting to see if my AP rate will beat the DVC discount though.

Yes, what Aneille said. :teeth: They do not always have the member villa discounts available, but it is certainly worth looking into. Also, what isn't available this week may become available next week so keep checking back.
The discounts are phenomenal and in our experience has always beat out any AP discount for that same accomodation.

Good luck!

It is kind of strange over on the AP site right now....I even tried to plug in dates during July, since that's the month that shows. I got told my session had timed out!!! After 30 seconds?? I think not. Hopefully something is going on in there....time will tell, but I am getting really antsy.

It is very weird on the AP site! When I clicked on the Book Now icon, it said that the special offer was no longer available....and the dates did start with July, even though they are still advertising the discount code that runs until April 8th.

What gives?

Thanks to those of you have voted!

I hope they don't skop these months either. The past two years I have gotten AP codes for spring break so hopefully it will be that way again this year.

WL 2004 was woods view $199
CBR 2005 was standard view $109
2006- here's hoping it's a good rate! :wizard:

And, it's July of 2005 and it cannot be changed.
Their site need to come out of the dark ages!

Yup, it is definitely weird on the Passholder site. I mean, why only july and august???
And if you click on the calendar it is for February, but it cannot be clicked on (to forward) at all! Hmmmm....keeping my fingers crossed

Someone posted earlier here that codes have come out in the afternoon before. I'm keeping my fingers crossed!! pixiedust:

I just got off the phone with reservations, I had to add a fridge request and I asked about the AP rates. The CM laughed :rotfl2: and said the agents were just about ready to BONK :badpc: marketing over the heads because of all the calls they are getting, she said enough already give us those codes!!!

PS: My vote went to Sierra~~~

I was actually thinking of calling and trying to 'subtly' check and see if maybe the codes were out but not showing on the site....good thing I thought better of it. Don't want to be ticking off those poor CMs...it's not their fault.

BTW...voted for Sierra also!!!
