We are at the point where everything, EXCEPT Jetblue flights, has become affordable for our April trip. I have a 40% off rate at the Poly and a good rate with Alamo-- just can not understand about Jetblue's pricing. We are headed down from White Plains the Saturday after Easter and RT fares are around $600!!!!!

I know JB drops their prices on occasion, but we are now less than 4 months out.

I'm waiting too. We are flying into West Palm Easter week then going to Orlando for 2nd week. I bought our tickets to West Palm around Thanksgiving but still haven't purchased the return from Orlando. Since you are renting a car you may want to check the rates leaving from Tampa they were about 1/3 the price from MCO last I looked. I'm going to hold out until the end of January. I've had luck with JetBlue's prices dropping 2-3 months out.

Jet Blue is high this year. We got great rates last year out of White Plains but booked Southwest out of Hartford this year as soon as they were released. While they are not bargain fares by any means, they are much better than Jet Blue. Have you looked into Southwest out of Islip? We have never flown from there but they still have good April rates.

We are traveling in May and would prefer Jet Blue because of their flight schedule and times. However I agree that their prices seem unusually high when compared with other airlines. Even if I add in the luggage fees and seat assignment for other airlines (like AirTran) they are still cheaper than Jet Blue by almost $50 per seat.

Although for us at the moment Jet Blue is the ONLY airline offering a direct flight. We may just bite the bullet (so to say) and pay the additional cost for the advantage of a direct flight since we are traveling with two seven year olds.

We fly out of Boston on Jet Blue and April fares just kill us.. We are paying $439/per person/each way x4 (don't do the math!!) and the only way we justify that is that we are DVC and AP holders so at that time we are not paying resort or ticket fees on top of the air fare.

I have a friend who hasn't gone to Disney in several years due to the cost of air fare. Before, if you were constantly watching the site you could jump in and get a good deal - or if we flew Sun - Mon. instead of Sat - Sun I could save around $900. Not so for 2010. We are back to Sat - Sun. for the same price as Sun. - Mon. :( (and the kids won't have to miss a day of school)

I miss the good ole days of Song and decent airfare prices...

I will give JB until late January to get real with their prices. If they do not come down I will book Delta out of LGA for HALF of what JB wants. Oh well, bye bye JB

We've only used Jet Blue once because from the DC area they're almost always higher than Air Tran or Jet Blue. I guess the one time we used them it was a fluke?! For our March trip I booked us home on Air Tran first then waited for SW to release and booked them going down. I am not typically a fan of mixing carriers but that was the best pricing I could find for our dates & the times that I wanted.

Booked our April 2010 flights back in September....4 of us out of Boston...non-stop both ways....$1236.00 on JetBlue (those same flights today are over $1900.00)!!!! Ouch!! We are pulling the kids out of school and heading down the Wednesday before vacation starts. The difference in price between going down Wednesday instead of Saturday was $2000.00 less!! I hate taking my high school DD out of school, but $2000.00 is an awful lot of money!! I look forward to the day when we're not restricted to traveling during school vacation week!:thumbsup2

We are heading down from White Plains easter week and ended up booking Airtran for a lot less. Jet Blue was just too expensive.

Last year we flew JetBlue from White Plains (also during Easter vacation) but ended up flying to Tampa as the flight was much cheaper and we were renting a car anyway. If you are planning on renting a car consider the HPN to TPA option. The car ride is only about an hour from the airport and the flights are usually cheaper.

Jetblue flights are absolutely insane.
We were looking at LAX-MCO for june and we can get United (who we dont really like) for $280 RT (not great times but cheap), Southwest for $320 RT (better times than United) and Jetblue wants $650 Rt from both LAX and LGB
We also looked at LAX-IAD for june as well and we can get southwest for $300 RT, Virgin America for $300 RT and Jetblue wants $550 RT

Jetblue prices are absolutely and completely absurd

I have to agree with everyone. Jet Blue prices are nuts right now. I sent them an email about a month ago asking what the deal was. They responded that they always put out the cheapest flights first, then when they sell out, they go to the next price level, yadayadayada. Basically we are out of luck.
I will keep watching however and give it until maybe the end of january. If they dont drop by then, then we will have to look elsewhere, which I hate to do.

We are going 4/10-4/17/10 out of HPN. I checked the day the fares came out and they were over $350 each way. They have not come down yet; some went up to $450 each way. People are paying these prices so why would they reduce the price? I gave up after a few weeks of waiting and got fares on AirTran for about $400 RT each. The times are not ideal but I could not see paying almost double with JetBlue.
