Anyone have some cute, funny, or non-harmful April Fools Day pranks?

My kids are at the age where they think it is hysterical to pull pranks and I would love to have them get DH but I can't think of anything good.

Not so much a prank, but what i served for dinner one year, the kids thought was really cool!

I told them they were having octopus and seaweed for supper.

cook up some ramen noodle soup. (chicken) drain the broth, and add a drop or two of blue food coloring. (blue because the noodles are yellow, and the blue turns them green)

boil hot dogs. make 7 slices from the bottom, up about a little more than half way to make the 8 tentacles of the octopus. Put noodles on a plate, and put the hot dog on top, fanning out the tentacles. use ketchup and or mustard to make a face on the "octopus" (dots for eys, ect)

I am a firm supporter of fake dog poo:rotfl: The one year, I left it all over my company and just sat back laughing at the looks on people's faces when they saw it.....yeah, I'm immature but I have fun:rotfl:

My nephew, who's 10, got his parents soooo good :)

You know the little sprayer that's next to the kitchen faucet? Hopefully your faucet/sink is set up that way. Well, he put a rubber band tightly around the sprayer so that it was "on" and kept it in its normal position, aimed outward -- basically aimed at anyone who was standing at the sink. Everyone who walked up and turned on the sink got a small blast of water.

No one got hurt or soaked ... just a little spray of water and a big surprise!

I'll tell you, the kid's brilliant. Not only did he think this one up all by himself and get both parents with it at different times, when he was around five, I asked him what he wanted to be when he grew up. He said he wanted to work for NASA (we're close by). I said, "Oh, yeah? You want to go up in space?" He said, "No. I want to build the space ships." :thumbsup2

I have put food coloring in a carton of milk. It is funny to see blue milk poured straight from the carton.

I've been saving this link from FamilyFun - I need to sit with my DD tomorrow and make some plans for her Dad on Sunday - she LOVES to get one over on her Dad! (Insert evil laugh!)

Have Fun!

My shower soap and shampoo come in bottles with flip tops. My DD snuck into the bathroom, unscrewed the cap, put saran wrap over the opening and screwed the cap back on. I stood in that shower, shaking that bottle, trying to get the 'clog' out for who-knows how long! :lmao: Didn't figure it out I got downstairs and DD asks, with her fake innocent smile, "Long shower today, Mom?" :rotfl2:

One year we painted DH's fingernails and toenails.

The kids thought that was hilarious.

My favorite has already been mentioned - the faucet sprayer. It helps if you use a marker to color the rubber band black so it won't be noticed.

I also like using a needle and thread to preslice bananas. The person starts to peel the banana and slices fall out.

If you work in an office this is fun and hurts no one. Find the number to your local zoo......leave a message for one of your co-workers that Mr. or Mrs. "Lyon" (spelled that way to not bring attention) called and watch their face when they place the call back.....I do it every year to somebody.......:rotfl2:

Will Kids were Three and Four, We Turned the Smoke Detector On. Both were in the bath and crawled on the floor naked towards the Door. Explained to them it was an April Fools but we also wanted to see if they knew what to do in case it went off. We had to stop laughing first before our rational was explained.

A radio personality was telling about the time he organized a fake parade on the air. He kept giving updates about what was happening at the origin point as to preparations. The city finally called up informing him they couldn't find the parade permit and could he tell them the parade route so they could put up the barricades.

Love them all!

I may try these.

:rotfl: I love April Fool's Day pranks. I remember in the past though there being a huge anti-pranksters brigade when this was brought up in the past. :teeth:

DD cut up paper making confetti, placed it on the ceiling fan so when her dad turned on the light & fan the paper went everywhere..

she also took his deodrant cut off the top replaced it with cream cheese, ( oh sticky pits)

I know once I got into HUGE trouble for covering the bowl of the toilet with clear plastic wrap, then putting the seat down over it. My stepfather was FURIOUS but I thought it was really funny.

I also thought that prank calling people was really funny at one point too. This was before caller ID was widely available, thank goodness, or I could've gotten into a LOT of trouble.

I baked a pan of corn bread and frosted it with choc. frosting and set it out at work. Everyone thought is was yellow cake until they tasted it.

As a teenager I hard boiled all of the eggs. Mom always got up in the morning to cook us a good breakfast before school. The first egg cracked and she was confused and her reaction just kept getting better and better.

The only downside was that once I was "found out" I wound up eating egg salad for a week.
