According to mousesavers.com an April code for 2007 became available on January 11th and expired February 18th. Then a second code for April became available March 8th.
If they keep holding to true to last years code dates (as they have been so far) we might expect a code late next week!!!

Let's hope

What was the code last year? We went last April and didnt get a code, unless its because our AAA agent didnt get it for us? Anything would be great to make it a possible surprise trip for my kids seeing it will be our last vacation for 2 years while i am going back to school and its a 2 yr program with no vacations.

Did you before April 15th?

Check-in dates / Type of Discount / Became Available
4/15/07-6/2/07 / pkg discounts for general public / 1/11/07, exp 2/18/07
4/15/07-5/23/07 / pkg. & room-only discount for general public / 3/8/07, exp 4/14/07

Where do we go to find these discount Codes? Is there a link to where we can see them?

Is the word "Codes" used as a term for "sale" and if so, do I need to quote a certain advertised Code word or number to make a booking?

AAA is generally not useful for this type of thing. Some agents maybe, but on the whole it seems none of them do any extra searching for Disney vacations and just take the rack rate from the pamphlets.

what are these codes for? I'm new to all of this. I will be there in april, but I already booked. Can you apply a code once you have booked? Thanks.

I'd like to know too

Codes have letters assigned to them (i.e. ZSW) and there are usually several going on at once. Yes, you can apply a code to and existing reservation - I have done it several times in the past.

You can always try to add a code to an existing reservation, but sometimes there are no discounts available at certain resorts, usually because they are full. Disney only offers discounts at the resorts that have rooms they want to fill. For many years it was hard getting discounts applied to rooms at A/S Movies, WL and CR and sometimes the Poly, because there resorts are popular and have no problem getting people to pay rack rate for them. I always believe that you sort of shoot yourself in the foot if you book a resort in the hopes of a discount, then if none appears, a person cancels the reservation or downgrades. However, if a person intends to stay at that resort regardless of whether they get a discount or not, then they should book early. You can't imagine how many threads I've read where folks will book the GF and then complain that they can afford to stay there unless then get a discount. I always say, being flexible is the key to getting a good rate. Always have a backup plan. Whenever I call, I usually have my resorts listed in the order that I prefer to stay and will go down the list until I get a price I'm comfortable with. I rarely get my first choice, but sometimes I have if I continue to check back later. So yes, if a good deal comes out call and see if you can modify your reservation with the new code, but if you're told no, be prepared to change your reservation to another resort.

I'm in holding pattern myself for an April ressie. My DH suggested a last minute trip but I priced out the Poly for 2 adults with a 2 and 1 yr old for 7 nights with 8 day PH and deluxe dining = $4797. The kids are free so thats for 2 people, WOW! So I'm waiting to see if any codes appear before I book. We're going in Oct ...I may have to wait until Oct. I'm with alot of other people on the boards, I make many trips to Disney a year but if prices continue to surge we may become once a year or less visitors.

We are DVC owners and it may come to the point we take one big trip per year on points and thats it, NO MORE CASH RESSIE TRIPS. Its a shame I enjoy the other resorts but not for the rack rate prices that exist now.

Is there an April Code Watch thread? I'd like to subscribe if there is.

I checked my old AP emails of when codes were released. I have an AP email that was released on 21 February 2007 and it was for discounts for April 15-June 2, 2007. (Easter Sunday was April 8th last year, so this round of discounts was for a week after the holiday.)

I also checked my older AP emails and on January 3, 2007, they released an AP rate for 2/15/07 to March 30, 2007 (keeping in mind that Easter was April 8th, so the discounts ended a week before Easter Sunday).

So according to pass emails of AP releases, I would expect an after Easter AP discount to be released mid-February. But hope I'm wrong.

As you can tell from the dates: First one ended on March 30, 2007 and the next one started April 15, 2007, that there was a 2 week blackout for Easter in 2007.
