Tjanks all - I am feeling a lot better and am glad the tooth (which had has more $$ spent on it in the past than I care to think about) decided to give up the ghost before the cruise.

UMTerp what do you think about the changing weather predictions? I hope that it does not snow that much tonight and tomorrow am. I need to go to work on Monday and if the cancel school it will be really tough. AT the office Firday preditions were that Fairfax would use at least 1 snow day since they are built into the calendar. I hope the guys were wrong - but last year the sure seemed to burn the off with that nothing storm in Feb. The skiers (DH and DD) are very happy about winter's return. We go to West Virginia for one last ski trip next weekend.

I bought my green tee-shirts last night. 8 more weeks until we are checking in.

I think it's supposed to miss us completely. DH said it will be south of us.
Right now it is sunny and about 25degreees. Feels warmer.

I'll be on the boards on and off today. I took over the couch. I have a sinus infection which is throwing me for a loop. Was up most of last night coughing.

Got to get better, too much to do.

No snow yet in the Poconos. How are you Maryland and Virginia people doing?

Va, Thanks for the Pixie dust. I'm watching the Weather Channel and they are expecting more snow than the local tv station. I HATE snow and was enjoying the mild winter. DD is the skier and hasn't been able to get out to ski because of her knee. We're 3 miles from Camelback ski resort. DH gave up skiing a couple of years ago. DS loves to go, but still needs someone to go with him. Our school district never builds in enough snow days and the kids end up going an extra couple of days. I think we've had 3 snow days and several 2 hr delays so far this year.

Polly, Hope you're feeling better. DS woke up with nasty cough this morning. DR. said to keep giving him prescription cough meds and see what happens.

It s supposed to be colder tonight than it has been in 3 years. 32 or colder.

Do you guys see that they have changed all the westerns up to Mar 25 to Costa Maya? We are the next western after that. I checked on the DCL site and we are not changed as of tonight. Guess I better look into it considering the chances of going to CZ are fading fast.

DH and DD are outside shoveling the 8 inches of snow (and it is still lightly snowing). They are then going sledding on the big hill. We lost power for about 2 hours last night (12:30 - 2:30). I am concerned about school tomorrow.

Judy I saw Cozumel info. I posted in the 1 thread - Carnival and RCCL - who spend big $$ in Cozumel with multiple ships per week - have been back for some time. Somewhere I read Cozumel can 4 -5 ships at once. Currently 7 are scheduled for April 12 - 3 Carnival, 2 RCCL, 1 NCL, and us - so I think our realistic chances are slim - none. I wish DCL would make an announcement so I could plan alternate excursions. I think Costa Maya would be fun - there are 2 ships there on 12 the as of now.

OOh-----that does not sound good. Yeah DCL will not go back in to CZ until they can guarantee without a doubt great service on tendering... Sounds like they will be divided too thinly. Personally ---I hate tendering. Give me a gangplank any ole day. i like the ability to come immed back on board and eat and then go back and wander around shops. it used to be so nice there because it was easy to do an excursion in the day time and come back for clean up and dinner and then wander around. Tender lines are normally rather a long process anyway. I hear you dock at CM.

We got somewhere around 8 inches of snow. We can handle that kind of snow here. NYC and the northeast coastal areas got hit really hard. u

Hello everyone!

We got 14 inches of snow!!! The roads were clear yesterday close to us but school is closed today. DH and I split the day. He worked this morning and I'm working this afternoon - can't you tell?

We were planning on a beach day in Cozumel so I guess I'll have to investigate some beaches in Costa Maya. It looks like from some posts on the main board that there may be some good beaches to go to. I'm crossing my fingers that we will get to Cozumel! I'm with Judy - I remember going back to the ship to shower and eat and then going back into town in the evening. We even went to mini golf in the evening. It was fun!

Everyone ready for Valentines day? DS made cookies for his class yesterday!

We ended up with about 14.5 inches on the deck - the driveway faces south so the wind blows and the sun melts it. UMTerp - I personally think yesterday was Fairfax county burning a snow day - 2 hours late would have been fine. This week is just too busy - I made the kids cheese platter for the party today, supplied treats for the challange 24 club at school, volunteer Thusday in the computer lab at school, need to provide 48 cookies for DD's vocabulary project - don't ask, DD has her strings concert Thursday, and we leave Friday for the mountains to go skiing.

Just an FYI crusiecal now listing us as going to Caost Maya (Sunday it still listed Cozumel). DCL still lists Cozumel but my bet is Costa Maya.

My kids would be envious of a snow burning day. We always ended up going longer every year because they don't build enough snow days into the year. Another month and we'll be out of the woods as far as snow days are concerned.

I'm guessing that we'll start to see our docs. in 3 weeks or so.

The power is finally on!!
It has been crazy here. A large cold front is going through and caused a lot of wind with gusts up to 50-60 miles per hour. Many of our neighbors lost fencing and shingles. We lost some shingles but not too bad. Lots of trees down and wires. They say its supposed to get real cold. subzero temps. I wish we were at WDW now. My brother and his family left this morning. It's there first time. I hope they have a great time.

Hope everyone is doing well. Any idea when disney will let us know what ports we will be going to. It would be nice to plan ahead with shore excursions.

Kids are on winter break as of today in our area. I think we will be going through closets to see who needs clothes or shoes for the cruise.

Wow poly - quite a storm! Yesterday it was in the 60s here, most snow has melted and it's cooling off quick today. Will be cold tonight. DH and DS are going camping this weekend! The low for tomorrow night where they are camping is going to be 16 degrees! I'm so glad mom's don't go on boy scout camping trips!!!! Good thing I got them both new sleeping bags for Christmas!

I'm thinking about getting summer clothes out soon to check to see if the kids need anything new! Anyone going to be wearing Crocs? I don't have any but have been reading the Croc-related threads with interest. We will be bringing our Tevas for sure!

I've been reading some about Costa Maya. The ruins tour looks really interesting for the adults but I'm not sure my kids (especially DD) would be too interested. I'm still keeping my fingers crossed for Cozumel!

I agree!!!! My DH and DS are going camping next weekend. They are going somewhere near Bristol to go skiing with the scouts. This weekend he has greenbar.

DH and DS made it back from camping! It was 8 degrees yesterday morning!
They survived! Everyone slept in so late that they had breakfast late, lunch late and ate chocolate cake for dinner! Sounds like my kind of menu!

Poly - best of luck to your DH and DS for this coming weekend! I can't imagine how much colder it must be up your way!

Pocono - see what your DH has to look forward too?

Judy - did you ride the Everest ride? How was it? I love roller coasters and can't wait to try it!

Good Afternoon Everybody,

Glad to hear the campers made it back. Brett can't wait to go camping with Bob. I think they go the end of April. Kate and I can go with them, but I think I'll take Polly's advice and do a girls' weekend. We did the marathon dinner also known as the Blue & Gold dinner on Saturday night. There were 240 people in attendance. Brett was the Wolf in the Akela skit. Poor Brett, he was so nervous. He did fine.

Kate is currently working on her Bronze Award for Juniors. This is going to be my last year as a Girl Scout leader. She will be going into someone else's troop. I've been a leader since her first year in Brownies and I think she needs to be in someone else's Cadette troop next year.

Are all of your kids on break this week? My nephew in New York is on break and I think the schools in NJ are also on break. We don't get any breaks except at Christmas. The Poconos are full of tourists this week.

Um-I'm glad your DS and DH had a great time camping. My boys can't wait to go.

Pocono- That sounds like quite the blue and gold dinner. Wow 240 people. I bet your ds did a great job. We just had our winter court of honor last week. ds got another merit badge. 3 more to go and his eagle project and he'll be an eagle. His goal is to be done before his 15th bday. He'll be 14 in May.

all kids are very happy to have the week off. I'm lucky to have it off too. My boss is in S.C.

Judy- How was expedition everest? My brother and family are there right now.

We are spending the week going through closets. Already bought some stuff and we got dd7 her first communion dress today. It looks like Cinderella's wedding dress. She is so happy.

Pocono - Wow! What a huge blue and gold dinner! I used to love to watch those skits over the years! No, we don't have a break other than Christmas break during the winter. Too bad we don't I would be some place warm!!!
Congrats to Kate! You are a super mom to be leader for this long - it is someone else's turn!

Poly - I'll bet your DD looks like a princess! Congrats to your DS! It sounds like he will get his eagle without a problem!
