April 7, 2007 Western on the Magic?

Please ease my mind on this ... I know I have read it many times, but just wanting to make sure I'm right one more time.

I just received my passport, but do not have one for DD. Is the only ID I have to have for her a certified birth certificate?????

Yes....i believe that's all you need...but if you go to the Disneycruise.com website...they have that passport information there and should give good details for minors. Also, when Ryan was only 14 & we went....i had a letter from my husband saying it was okay that i was taking Ryan out of the country....

Off to bed....after spending over an hour searching for the 'Gamma Green" mickey icons....i don't have any idea where they are...so i know (for sure) that i have the 41 Sonic Booms....but i think with the others that were picked up we have enough....??? let's hope

Brenda - have a safe flight and a great time at WDW.

Paula - that stinks. Your store must be open late - all night?

Anyone else leaving tomorrow - have a safe flight.

See you all on Saturday.

Yes Ellyn:sad2: We have 2 24 hour food marts. They keep me on my toes.

I have sailed six times with my minor child - beginning at age 11 and most recently in February right before her 17th birthday. I have never been asked for a notorized statement from her dad allowing her to travel.

I presented her birth certificate (and then her drivers license after she was 16) for all but the last cruise (passport on the last cruise) and was never questioned.

BTW - At age 14, only one parent has to appear for passport application. Seems if one parent is all that is needed for a passport app, the cruise industry would go with the same allowances.

Did some packing last night- will finish up tonight and in the morning. We are driving to Jax tomorrow night then on to Cape Canaveral Fri morning to spend the day there.

Hoping everyone has safe travels!!!

WoW, sounds like many of you are on your way! We of course have to finish out the work week and school for the kids since I took the kids out of school in January for a week at Disney World.

We're still packing and getting ready. Now it's time for trips to the bank and last minute trips for supplies. I can't believe it's finally time.

Here's wishing you all fantastic safe flights and travels! We'll join you soon.

Hey Everyone,

Just got back into town. It took so long reading all the post! So many of you have left.

We have to wait until the girls get out of school Thursday before we can leave. We may wait until after rush hour ( DC rush hour:scared:).

Hope everyone has safe travels. It is going to be the thirties here the next couple of days. I will be so glad to be in sunny Florida.

Jen

Courtney: I have been worried about this as well. I just called the passport office this AM because I have not received my passport and I sent the appl in late January. They have a recording "reminding" anyone traveling in the Caribbean by sea will not need a passport. And, then encouraging you to hang up. I had to purchase a new certified birth certificate because my original went with the passport appl. So, that's what I'm using. Neither of my girls have passports either. BTW, I also called Disney two weeks ago to verify that their rules were not any more stringent, and they said Certified (raised seal) birth certificate was good enough.

Somehow the last few days, all things things run through my mind, and usually wake me up in the middle of night, but we are worrying for nothing.

Getting anxious, newspaper is stopped, bills are paid, mail is all set, even managed to get a door sign done and send out Easter cards to our parents.
Just a day and a half of work to go and we are outta here. :dance3:

FYI - Carly packed a costume for pirate night. pirate: I don't know what most of the kids do, but we had it from Halloween, so I figured I'd throw it in.

Debbie

Debbie,

The only reason I got my passport in time is that I kept calling back every few days to check on it, and finally they expedited it for me Friday (I didn't have to pay any extra).

I'm glad someone else worries like I do. I just keep thinking that maybe I've overlooked something. If you forget to pack something, that's one thing, but if they didn't let us on the boat, I would just die!!! :faint:

I had bought Leah a Pirate costume at Walmart at Halloween time with the cruise in mind, so I'll take that for her. I am not dressing up - not really into that.

Good luck with all the last minute stuff!

hi everyone,
i'm just getting last minute things together, very busy.

just wanted to say see ya on the ship!! i leave tomorrow morning for orlando. oh, that sounds good. it is cold and rainy here, can't wait for florida sunshine!!:)

Everyone that is leaving tomorrow have a safe journey. :)

OK, I've gotten a majority of my packing done. I was hoping to really minimize my luggage, but I guess that's not possible when I'm taking two complete outfits for each day! So, I ended up with a large suitcase, a medium suitcase, and a wheeled garment bag, plus my carryon. I hope that's not too terrible for just me and a 7 yr old!

I've seen threads before about how many shoes to take. I guess I'm one of the excessive shoe packers, because between me & DD, we're taking 12!!!!!

:rotfl:

Courtney, I did the same thing first cruise we took! Not that I have ever taken that many shoes! I only wear my flip flops and and pack 2 others.
I have it down to 1 suitcase for each of us and a bag with toiletries and such.
This time I do have an extra bag for Easter things and door decorations. I always try to pack my suitcase inside of a larger one so I can fill it with souveniers. I usually try to find a night to do a load or so of clothes. Even when we did the 14 night repo cruise I only brought 1 suitcase--I did use a garment bag also for my dresses. This time I folded them and packed as usual. If they need to be pressed I will give them to the room steward and have it done.

I am so ready for this trip!!!!!!! Come on Saturday get here already.

It's time --- It's finally time. I know everyone (who's not already left for Florida) is really busy tonight. Guess what, I'm packed and ready to go! See everyone soon.

:hippie:

I'm still getting some last minute stuff done and trying to do a little cleaning around the house. We are leaving for the airport around 10:30 in the morning. It will be so nice to finally meet all of you on Saturday. For everyone that is leaving Friday and Saturday, have a safe trip! See you on board:banana:

We'll be leaving for airport at 10:15 in the am!!!!!!!! So excited!!!!!!!!

Just hope I can sleep tonight and don't wake up every little bit. I haven't slept much at all this week, but that's okay! Just put DD to bed and she seemed really tired, so I think she'll sleep okay.

Once again, good luck to all and safe travels!

:goodvibes

Hey guys!!!

How is it going after being delayed on Saturday? You are all quiet -- I'm sure you're having a fantastic trip already.

Its COLD everywhere! New Orleans had sleet yesterday -- central Texas had snow! I'm sure you're nice and toasty!

Can't wait to hear about your travels.

Lisa

Welcome home everyone!

So -- spill it! How was the week in paradise?

Can't wait to hear from all of you!

Hello All! Hope everyone that wasn't having extended stays, had a safe trip home. We arrived back home to 44 degrees and rain. It is supposed to reach the 60's all week and 70's by the weekend.

It was fun getting to meet everyone:goodvibes

Hope everyone made it back safely! The traffic was extremely bad for us in GA- took 4 hours to go 109 miles :headache: . Ended up taking Dh to the urgent care yesterday for a stomach bug.

It was not fun getting up this morning and coming to work but I guess I have to in order to fund the next cruise.

PhotoLisa-- Some of us made it on board before they evacuated the terminal. We kept wondering what was going on. THere were only about 200 people that made it on board. It ended up messing up our planned meet so unfortunately a lot of us never got to meet.

We had a great trip (will try to do a trip report) and rebooked while on board.
